This window has the word "Radiation" embossed on it. You also get to see the resource monitor. This gives you feedback as you test your game so that you can ensure a smooth playing experience.

That should settle the question once and for all about bump mapping on segments. Great screenie!

In this shot I've added some extra ambient lighting, added some fog and also added the water level.

Notice how water and refraction works both sides of the window. Lee had to rewrite his renderer at the weekend to get all this to work! Not many games (if any) can do this.

Also need to mention that the older X9 segements use all their shader textures in X10 and look far better!

Phenominial.

but RICKV, can you answer my question as to what if the player looks down at the water reflection? does the player just see a floating gun in the reflection, nothing, what?

EDIT-

Don't you think adding a player model? i personally think thats a NEEDED feature. Because lets face it, in almost any fps now a days your controlling an actual model, not just a gun. Cmon rick, plz i beg you, include player models instead of just floating guns.

You'll Know When You See It.

I only had seen that in f.e.a.r, you look down and you have legs! so it is not so common, even I see that kinda unnecessary, mostly game actually load the model only when the player is in front of a mirror but actually there is no player there just a weapon and a pair of hands...

yea , i think Fear was one of the first games that have used it.
But now , more and more games start using that future.
Like Call of Juraz , Kill zone , enc ...

But Games like half-life2 never used it.. just a game style i guess.

Great looking screens!

Love them...but...

Since you show most of the segments and shaders etc etc...

Does that means that FPSC x10 is almost done?

Anyway love it and i am gonna buy this for sure.

No legs in X10, certainly something for the future along with full 3rd person mode, but hey, that'll be months of development time (if not years)

YES!!!!!!!!!!! You have re-sparked my interest in x10! Screw gamestudio A7! Awesome shots!

EDIT
@RickV
Will X10 have enhanced animation and/or darkvoices? So we can finally have good lipsyncing and facial animation? That would rule.

Excellent, I love the bump and illumination mapping it really brings out the texture, and the refraction is just completely amazing. This will get me out of DBP and back making FPSC games, not that I would abandon DBP, especially with the X10 version coming.

P.S. Love the scene in the first one BTW what happens to a dead guys gun when he dies? I see Jon Fletcher's models on there and boy do they look good! Can we see some custom entities or WWII media or is there none of that yet? Can you give us an approximation or how close you are to finishing? Like 89% or 9/10 done?

Can refraction be changed by script? Then you could constantly change the refraction and make it look like some sort of water portal (think of the film Abyss).

@RickV: could the scopes be changed? Like in FPSC you can't change the scopes for a different weapon like the snipers had the same scope can that be changed but still have the a different scope on a different weapon?

if there was a room with water in, and a room without water in. Would both rooms be full of water?

I was hoping to make some kind of game where the glass breaks and water comes in but i have heard the water level will be the same throughout.

Cool. Nice screenshots. But I've realized I can't afford a new computer right now. (Or maybe even next year) so I'll have to stick with X9.

Hoepfully I'll win the lottery or something.

I've been in a room with Rick and Lee discussing 3rd person views. It's a good job they are both polite (maybe that was for my benefit?), it could end up very nasty otherwise!

Rick V, I'm sure you've probably already been over this but will there be a Windows XP version of this because to get fps creator, I'm gonna have to buy a whole new computer.

There is already an XP version out.

Unless you mean and XP version with all these features. If so then yes but not quite everything. Once this is done they will take out the Vista/DirectX 10 exclusive stuff and make it into the new FPS Creator X9 (XP version).

ummm... only a few features will be moved (water will probably not be there and maybe not rag-doll or allies) You could stick with FPSC and hope they work on it or upgrade sorry,
