Anyone who uses the word noob or n00b is an idiot in my book, in my experience very few respected members who have actually achieved ANYTHING use the word, so it says a lot about the people who throw it around like it's going out of fashion in this thread.

I'm allowed give my opinion, aren't I? I find it quite ironic that some of you who act less than mature go around labeling other people as noobs.

Sure you are, I never said you weren't.

But we are allowed to give ours too, henceforth we can call who we want to noobs.

Pyramid,
It's not a good idea to try and stand up against one of the longer running members here (and one of the most well known too), especially since you've been here for less than 6 months!

Actually I thought he made quite a valid point, he's as much entitled to his opinion as we are to ours, even though he IS wrong

Can we please turn off that subject?

Quote: "Yes, he is, I was just bringing home (as an authority figure) that he was wrong "

(Not trying to start any fights but... That line right there made me make most of my stupid posts from two years ago. Which you'll never hear threads, or posts like that from me again. I don't think that type of concept is just, "OH I'm a mod so whatever I say GOES!"..)

Okay let's get off that topic now.

Ooh.. checking emails...
Do you want me to email you back to the acount you emailed me with or the first one you posted on the thread?
I'm going for the thread one.

I nominate Chris Franklin to go on the Noob List. Sorry Chris, Had to be done.

Just noticed the first page. As Distribution engineer... I strive to find the quickest and most dangerous way of getting beer directly to you after you endure long, and arduous flaming of a nooblet... That is all.

(2e^()*log)/log(i*(^2+)=42
carry the one... Bah that wont work! I'll need at least 4 elephants!

put me in as a SpacePirateJediCowboy, I have a sweet steampunk style golden etching navy revolver (old western gun used in the American civil war) and an awesome warlock guitar. Also I sail on an Airship (pirate ship with a big balloon above it). I am mercenary, so I don't actually belogn to a group, but if I get involved it's on the anti-anti noobs side. (ie the good guys; han solo style.)

you asked for it...

that's me in a pirate hat, I'd assume the rest of my attire is like a steampunk/victorian mans outfit, like white shirt with black vest buttoned up with golden buttons. I will draw something at home tonight to give a better (more video game character design) image.

In case the game will actually progress any further, I want to be in it.

I want to be the CyborgPunkNinjaPirate McGuilleCutty with a guitarifle and large red afro! oh and a sword! Also I am hunting the 100million bounty wiggett on my rowboat. And I have a bird that can shoot stars.

So i'm not really in the game, just some dude who randomly pops up and hurt wiggett whenever he is in the game.

edit: concept art [link]

I allways afraided from a clowns. aww..

Aha! I'll be the "senior noob professor". First noob lesson:

The noob mind-set

Noobs almost always start as a fan of some well known MMO (WoW, runescape, etc), and are inspired to make something like it. The idea behind this is "If someone has done it, it can't be too hard!" They then begin to pursue the path of game-making.
Noobs have several approaches to figuring out the mystery of how to "make games". Mostly, they search "how to make a video game" on Google. This yields many results, causing the noob to get excited and buy the first game-making package they come across. If they are lucky, they buy something like the 3D Game Maker, and are naive enough to believe that they are u83r 1337.
The unlucky noobs buy programming software (with clearance from their mom, of course), and after waiting a week or two for the CD to arrive, they install the software. They open the program, and...

"What do I do?"

The noob explores the "New project" button for a while, then tries to find tech support. This usually comes to them in the form of a forum on the website which they bought the program from. They start an account on the forum, and ask for help. Depending on their intelligence level, they ask different questions.
High intelligence: I don’t know anything about making games, can you tell me where to start?
Medium intelligence: I bought DB, but I don’t know what to do. Teach me what to do!
Low intelligence: G1VE M3 T3H C0D3Z
The noob is then flamed to death.

And so concludes lesson 1.

Lesson 2:
The noob starts using code tidbits and stuffs them illogically together thinking "Ill show those wierdos." When he gets an error, he freaks out and sends it to the forums to check it out.

The forum people see something like this.

Load World "A world with a lot of hills and trees for an MMO."
Create CHaracter: "The awesome character I saw in that picture."
Play Game:

WHen they should really be doing:
Make MMORPG 1,64

Not even a strait suit, you, caramel, the recycling bin, uber code, and chuck norris combined can keep me safe from me. Mostly cuz I exist.
