I only have the trial of DarkBASIC. Before I buy it, i want to see if you can export a model made in 3ds max 5 (*.max) to *.x.

Is That possible?

Lemme get this straight...

First you go out and buy the latest 3DStudio Max which is a 1500$+ program and then, for a 99$ product, you can't get to decide if your money is worth investing????

Forget what's up above anyways that's just a sarcasm which isn't exactly uncommon for me and most people here as you will see.

To answer the question...Yes,you can do it all in Max.

Just because your father has got a large company and you are, well, a little rich, it does not mean that you have to waste you money. By the way I still owe my dad 400$

But I have always worked with the rendering, never programmed before. I want to work myself into this stuff, so please help me!

Thank you;
Jake

* "that you have to waste your money"

How exactly do you export to *.x?

I didn't ask you for a justification, you could've just ignored the wise crack like many people here do.

I already answered you anyways, you need to export the models using a plugin for DirectX 8+ meshes...

You probably already know http://www.maxplugins.de.

I believe they have it.

BTW:There's an edit button right next to every of your posts.

There's always the newcomers corner where you can virtually ask anything(as long as you don't post 4 topics asking the same thing) or the help file can be a good start,it's got some basic programming principles that even me understand.

Also try this link which is the second biggest community of DB'ers on the net...

Then be careful when you get in an argument around Mouse or RobK(especially when you know you're right),they tend to divert the attention by using grammar correction

Now I have downloaded the plugin from maxplugs.de and placed in the correct folder. I have also made a blue box in max. Now I want to export it and make a scene in DarkBASIC where it appears in the scenter of the screen.

Help?
