Well, i still have a fighting chance (although my texture isnt good enough against the others, but the marks are mainly on originality an use of polys, so i did quite well!)

Mt ratings!

_________________________________
Encrypto Studios: Ammo Box.

Good model! Nice looking texture!
Sides of the model were different colors than the rest!
And the polycount was way to big for that size of a model!
Text on the model was mirrored which could have been fixed with a edit in the UV!

______________________________________
Overall i give the model a 6 out of 10.
______________________________________

+ Great design for the mesh!
+ Texture was also very good!

- UV wasted a quite big of space!
- The sides in the texture used a different color!
- Polycount was to big for a model with that size!

_________________________________
Bum Fat Cheeze: bintex.

Model concept was nice!
The texture could needed a bit more work.
Also the model design itself was a bit of buggy!
Some faces acted weird...and looked into my modeling program and noticed that some faces overlapped others!

______________________________________
Overall i give the model a 5 out of 10.
______________________________________

+ The concept was nice!
+ Originality was also good!
+ Polycount was good!

- Texture needed improvements!
- Mesh itself was quite buggy!

____________________________________
Henry Ham: Starfighter.

Model is very good! texture is also very nice!
Use of polycount is also good!
Some parts in the texture looked quite bland...and also could have add some more detail.
Even though the polycount is very low for this size of model.
It could have had some more details in the mesh itself!

______________________________________
Overall i give the model a 7 out of 10.
______________________________________

+ Use of polycount!
+ Great idea!
+ Texture was also very good!

- Details in the texture!
- For such a big model it could have go away with some poly's extra (details)!

______________________________
CultBraiN: Piano.

Model was great! So is the texture and the polycount!
Concept is also very good! And the idea is very usefull for FPSC.
I dont have any crits for this model...and can only say that its very good!

______________________________________
Overall i give the model a 9 out of 10!
______________________________________

+ Texture!
+ Model design and Idea!
+ Use of poly!
+ Shadow baking!

- Thing for the feets could have been redone with a alpha map!

______________________________
X games: Shelf.

Model is good! And so is the idea & texture!
I looked into the modeling program and saw that you used several objects.
It would have been better if you used 1 object for the whole model.
But that isnt a big deal! Polycount was used good!
Mesh design itself was also very nice!

________________________________________
Overall i give the model a 8.5 out of 10!
________________________________________

+ Design is good!
+ Idea and Concept is very nice!
+ Texture is also very good!
+ Polycount is used in a good way!

- UV could be redone a little better!

______________________________
0 Geoff 0: Stool.

Well the polycount was to big!
Texture needed some improvements!

________________________________________
Overall i give the model a 4.5 out of 10.
________________________________________

+ Idea was good!

- More polygons than 250!
- Texture needs some tweaking!

_____________________________
The Toasty: AK47.

Idea was good! And it will surely be handy in FPSC for filling up levels!
But! The polycount was around the 5 times bigger than the limit for this comp!

________________________________________
Overall i give the model a 4.5 out of 10.
________________________________________

+ Good idea!

- Needs less polygons!
- UV could have been edited a bit!

_________________________________________
Big Viking Games: HelpBank.

Model idea is good! Texture needs a edit though!
It was a bit bland the texture and could have used some more details!
Some parts of the texture were stretched so that could
have been fixed in the UV!

________________________________________
Overall i give the model a 6.5 out of 10.
________________________________________

+ Idea and Concept were good!
+ Use of polycounts!

- Texture could needed a bit more details!
- UV could have been edited!

______________________________________
I want to Game: Coffin.

Model design was good! Human that was in the coffin was even better!
And the animation made it complete!
Texture could have been improved!

________________________________________
Overall i give the model a 8.5 out of 10!
________________________________________

+ A big plus to the animations!
+ Great use of the polycount! In my opinion this polycount was used the best!

- Texture could be improved!

These are all the models that i can fully rate!
There are some others but those are in X formats....
If i forgot someone than please tell...and post the model in OBJ!

Yes, I suspected that. This sounds nOObish, but I really don't know how to count polys. I just whipped up a model for the first time, made an awful texture, found this comp and entered it.
I wasn't expecting to win.

Inspire: Crate.

Model is good! Polycount also! Texture was very very nice!
Good use of the UV! Really takes out of everything.

+ Uv was good!
+ Design was nice! Concept/Idea good!
+ Texture really nice!
+ Use of polycount!

- Texture could have used some shadows! (see in the 3dchat board "Uber Crate" thread...it was named something like that)

Thanks for the good rating, Cheese Cake. I was trying to make a similar crate, but right when I started texturing, I couldn't find the thread, and had to do it all out of memory. Hence the lack of shadows.

WOW! 3ds max can't even import an .X file yet they want you to pay $3600+ for it? What a ripoff!

I hope someone converts all the entries so this compatibility issue doesn't leave the early entries out.

.X isn't exactly a common format is it? there are workarounds, and some importers that are free, but yes it is a pain.
