hi this is my second post,
i started a thread previously asking about the possibility of creating characters and someone kindly pointed to me to their personal guide within which the suggested 3rd party software was 'milkshape'. I have downloaded this unfortunately it seems i'm a little out of my depth so i was hoping someone could post for me a step by step guide to creating a character via milkshape.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

This has nothing to do with scripting, but as for models & media, well...  (you'll find more about modeling in the models & media forum)

Here is a link to what you want...CS GIRL TUTORIAL

It is based on counter strike, but the basics are the same only you would save your model as an X file instead of a counter strike format.
Also, you would be working with the FPSC skeleton offered here in the forums instead of making your own. That way the animations are done for you.
This tutorial gives you everything you need to know to go from concept to a mesh made from scratch that would be ready for your FPSC skeleton.
Once you have the mesh created, then you open it , then merge the FPSC skeleton (do skeleton last so you don't loose animations), then export that as X file. (JT not 8)
You will find all you need with a little more searching. It is a lot easier to edit an existing mesh if you have a base model. (you have a bunch of stock ones in FPSC)
Also, the easiest way to create unique characters is to simply change the texture of the stock models, because that only involves editing 2d images, not remodeling.
However, if you want to change the anatomy of the characters, then Milkshape is the inexpensive solution.
