i have got this car in my level, added acceleration ect... but the turning is bugging me, it wont turn the object, it seems to be stuck on the screen or somthing...

could somebody please check it out and see where im going wrong, its driving me crackers...

thankyou so much in advance for any help, suggestions, advice ect..

I think the reason for this is that the camera turns at the same speed as the object itself, so you never see the object rotating, even though its changing direction. You will have to slow the camera down, maybe setting a certain speed value that it adjusts itself when its not directly behind the car, for example, adjust it only a few degrees at a time. The jetski demo with DB shows how this can be done.

It should be in your Darkbasic folder, under \myproj\jetski, or on your Darkbasic cd. Also, I'll have a look if I can integrate it into your program if you like.

Yeah, sorry for taking so long, but I just remembered about this thread. The way I did it here was not to manage the camera itself, but I used the "set camera to follow" command.
This will tell the camera to follow a certain point, in this case the coordinates of the car, and you can set the smoothing effect, i.e how fast it follows. 1 means no smoothing while 100 is extreme smoothing. Here it is set to 5, so it wont lag too much while looking pretty good. I hope this helps ^_^
