I know I'm asking a dumb question, but I am tired of looking for this. I have built a model with animation, my first one I might add, and I was wandering how I would get this scripted.

It has 20 frames and I want it to fly around in the sky, but I can't get it to flap it's wings. I keep looking at nickydude's thing, but I am missing something. Can someone can help me with this. I have the bird fpsc ready as you can see.

I tried that and it didn't work. I animated it in milkshape and it has some animation but it just moves a little not a whole frame. You can download it and tell me what I did wrong. Thanks

Try setting limbmax to 0 in the .fpe

Also, change

to

Perhaps that space is confusing the parser.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

...use this script, and your birdie will flap his wings like a champ:

There were two things that had to be corrected with the .x file itself:

1. Reset the animation speed to 24 fps
2. Turned off animation loop

I changed these two things, resaved the file, and bingo...we had flappage!

If you plan on using the follow.fpi script with waypoints, you should add anim2 = 1,20 to the script.

Birdie.x is attached.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Ok I tried that and it didn't work for me. I made a video of it in milkshape and in fpsc. You will see the I am not getting a flap. Could it be the version of fpsc that I am using? I'm using 1.4 now I tried 1.7 but my milkshape stuff had difficulties.

DLed and watched the video.

Did you remember to swap your old bird1.x with the new Birdie.x file, in the FPSC folder?

Did you remember to delete the old .bin and .dbo files for the old bird1.x file?

I'm running x9 v1.07, and it's running like a champ, in fact, if you make these changes (it'll match the settings I'm using) you should get some really good results:

If you plug in Plystire's Swarm Zombie Claw script as the aimain, it really makes one scary experience for the player, if you set a flock of these guys in wait.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Thanks!!! I got it flapping and flying!! This is my first animated model ever. I thought I would make a small model pack of birds for fpsfree since I take so much from there. Now where is that script you were talking about.

...here you go.

Plystire's Swarm Zombie Claw.

No need to set waypoints or anything for the birds.
Elevate a flock of them up at just about eye level to the player, and watch 'em come at you.

Better have a weapon handy to pick 'em off, or you'll die quick!

Have fun.

Well done starmind 001.
I've been wanting to make a dragon for awhile, but the animation part makes me dread the very thought of it.
YOur bird looks great and makes me want to try some animation.
I look forward to your bird pack. Alfred would be proud.

...Hitchcock, for those of you too young to know the reference.

Yep. The Birds kept going through my head, as I fended off my CGI attacks.
