Hello,

I have been looking at both the X9 and X10 v.
of this software, and I am very interested in buying one or the other. My machine will run X10.

my first question is on the content of X10,
is there a decent amount of models & weapons
included with the creator?

X9 seems to obviously have a large amount of Mp's
and there also seems to be alot of user created "freebies"
available as well. after reading some on the net it seems that very few of the x9 models have been upgraded to X10, or any exclusive just for X10.. is this correct?

my interest is primarly just to create my own shooters, and share them with a few friends..very few of them are DX10 capable.
i read on here some place that there is a version in the works
of Fps x10 that run on both a dX9 machine minus 4.0 shader ect. and DX10 ?

and lastly how dose either version handle sound import..Back ground music and sound effects.
wav/mp3?

also is there a stocking retailer in the U.S. that i could walk in a buy either of the fps ver. off the shelf?

thank you
fallen one

There is a thread about dx9 content not working on dx10, so your content may be a problem.

First... Welcome to the forums!

And now the questions.

There is more content in X10 than there is in X9.
Since X10 uses the same models as X9...but also uses some newer ones which really look good.

X9 have a larger amount of Model Packs...but that is mainly because they are all getting converted to X10.
Soon they both will have the same amount of Official model packs.

The freebie packs that are made for X9 will also be compatible for X10...
with a few ones that wouldnt work.
Making models for X10 isnt any different than X9...they both use the same model format and the FPE lay-out is basically the same.
So i would say that they both almost share the same amount of freebie packs.

No isnt possible! you would need Vista and a Direct X10 compatible card to use FPSC X10.

Dont know about the MP3..but i know it uses WAV.

Hmm dont know...but i dont think so...i think you would have to buy
FPSC from the internet.
(dont worry it doesnt take to long before it arrives)

You could also check the X9 demo...and see if you like it.

thanks for taking the time to answer those questions Cheese Cake,

i was leaning toward X10 anyway,
my buddy's will just have to wait to upgrade there machines
to play my creation..lol

Wav. format is fine..for what i have in mind,
I like to create my own sound effects. roland Gr50 guitar synth.
midi piped through my computer..or midi files loaded in to the synth. you can create some pretty bizzare sounds once you manipulate it on a guitar fret board with your fingers.
like a Tie fighter Scream guitar solo
all easily converted to wav. format

i'll just bite the bullet and order it..thanks
