Well, I'm packing an E-Machine, with a 2.9ghz processer, 512mb RAM,(1.5GB paging), and I don't know what graphics card i have, but i do know that it's not enough and it's also on-board...

So how much do you reckon it would hurt me for a Direct X10 compatible Motherboard, Graphics Card, 2GB RAM, Vista, and a new processer? I'm not sure what brands, models or whatever I need for this great upgrade, but when i add the £50 cost for FPSC X10, would I be better off staying with /x9, with Lemur V2 just round the corner...

I guess it will probably be cheaper buying a new computer, but I'll check first...

Try looking at a Dell XPS system. Sometimes they come at good prices online and it pretty much works out of the box.

I bought one recently with a 3 GHz Core2Duo, GF 8800 GT (512 MB) and Vista Premium.

I reccomend iBuyPower. I got mine at Costco, and I think it was cheaper than buying it direct. It was about $1500 with a quadcore, 8800 GTS (640 MB), Vista Ultimate and a 500 gig hard drive. Everything worked out of the box, except you have to activate Windows (they don't do it for you). The key's already programmed in there, and if it isn' then it's on the side of the computer, so it's rather easy to do. Once everything is setup it's pretty great.

Thats what I thought, see what Lemur will do, though didnt I read in the news letter they was doing an XP version of dx10, only it will be running on dx9 as Im sure dx10 dont work on xp, check the news letter, Im sure I read that, I hope TGC clear up what they are releasing, its getting confusing. Im sure a dx9 version of dx10 would bring in a few quid, its a bit out of order that to get fpsc classic you have to buy dx10 but running on dx9, but what can you do, well apart from run Lemur, which is looking great so far.

Get a refurbished PC. I got mine for $420, it's a Pentium D 2.8ghz, 1gb of RAM, 320gb hard drive, Vista home premium and it works great. My video card (8800gtx) cost me $400 but it's new and overclocked, you can get a 8800GTS 640mb used for $250-$300 maybe less.
