As you all know, getting high-poly models in 3D action games really drains the memory. How difficult is it to render plains like sprites?
Because of the rapidly changing animations, this would require constant "texture" changes. How far could this go smoothely with transparency and would it be possible to do while avoiding what I originally avoided in the first place: memory loss. No, I'm not thinking of animating a FPS this way, but more of an isometric, half 3D action game.
