Does anyone have any opinion on whether it is best to use 32 bit or 64 bit Vista to develop and build x10 games on?

Lee - any experience of this. Any known issues?

Good judgment comes with experience. Unfortunately, the experience comes from bad judgment.

I don't think it makes a difference. 32-bit is fine with mine. It just means the colour resolution(i think).

Vista Home Premium; nVidia GeForce 8400GS with DirectX10-ready; Pixel Shader 3.0; Intel Pentium 2 Dual Core with Intel Viiv; 320GB HDD; AGEIA PhysX engine plug-in

No, it means processor type. I'd choose 32-bit for compatibility reasons.

I do not see many programs using the 64bit processing right now. I think it will be awhile before 64bit becomes mainstream.

32 is here for quite awhile, so I would go with the 32bit.

even if he gets a 64 bit proccessor, he can still use 32 bit programs, and he can use 64 bit programs and vista ultimate.

stuff..

I have a 64-bit processor, but the 64-bit version of XP had serious compatibility issues. I guessing Vista wouln't be much different (64-bit anyway. 32-bit runs like a dream.)

I’m running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit version and FPSC X10 and X9 work fine on my PC.I haven't had any issues so far with Vista 64 bit and I'm all up to date as far as windows updates, Direct X and X10 and X9 updates go. The 64 bit version of Vista according to Microsoft is suppose to run 12% faster than the 32 bit version of Vista
When you install the 64 bit version of Windows Vista, Vista makes two Program Files folders on your C drive, one is for 64 bit program files named the standard "Program Files" and the other folder is for 32 bit programs named 'Program Files (X86)".
I haven't had any problems finding 64 bit drivers for any of my hardware.
I just recently upgraded my PC again and I'm now running a AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core CPU with 4 gigs of G-Skill DDR2 800 Ram, Nvidia 8800 GT 512MB, 1.25 Terra bytes of hard drive space(2 500 gig SATA 2 HD Seagate and Samsung and 1 250 gig SATA 2 Western Digital HD).

I personally think 64 Bit is the way to go I have Vista Ultimate with everything. Also an added plus is you can use more memory and 32 bit.

Currently I have 8 GB of 6400 RAM and everythign runs smooth. I Have not had one error problem since using Vista and I have been using for over a 2 years (Yes over 2 years, it pay sot be a Microsoft MVIP as I get everythign Microsoft developes and Vista has been in development since 2002)

Yea I havent had any probs with vista 64-bit either. You would think the better option for game development be the 64-bit version anyway
