ideas for competitions

-best arena
-best sound effect
-best music
-best decal
-bsst level design
-best game video
-a hud contest
-a feature contest where people have to think of new features for fpsc, and the best one will be included in the next update.
-best promo video for a game
-best promo picture for a game
-best voice acting
-you could give some themes for screens and games, like horror, scifi, ww2,... and entries have to do something with it.
-also a character comp would be nice

I already clicked 10 times to give you money. How much do you get per click, or per 10 clicks or so?

Creativity is more important than knowledge.

Thanks for the ideas. I'd like to keep the contests as simple as possible, and get more people involved. Many things, such as level design and model contests, have been done but didn't get many entrants. I'd like to do something that's fun and easy for everyone.

As for click revenue, it just depends on what you clicked, the number of impressions per click, and a lot of other "Google only knows and isn't telling anyone" technology. Some days the site makes .50 cents.... some days it makes nothing.

I'm hoping that the extra traffic from contests will cover the cost of prizes, and so far, it looks like it will. Thanks to all who participated for that.

Some of the other member owned sites that are linked from my site could use a little more traffic as well. Give them a visit to see what they've got going on.

xplosys: what about "Most clever FPSC puzzle" or something else that could actually advance level design in FPSC. With some good prices it could make a lot of users send in creative new ways we still haven't found.

The maps should of course be sent with their source files and made public afterwards so that it could benifit the entire community.
