Well as the heading says model pack 6 is X10 ready.Still busy with normal maps.

I would like to know who would want those normal maps for the weapons.!!!

For those who don't want them and still want to use model pack 6 here is the simple way of importing model pack 6 to X10

You need to copy the following files to the exact same directory from X9 to X10.

/files/gamecore/guns/M6
/files/entitybank/M6
/files/texturebank/M6
/files/meshbank/M6
/files/segments/M6


After you have done that place a weapon in the editor right click and the script window will open change the main script to the weapon.fpi script in the scriptbank.

That is it your done happy shooting!!!!

some screenies of course...by the way dual welding works 100% as well as the other animations..

This can be done with other weapons packs as well I'm not sure all of them will work 100% I can confirm that one other model packs works a little bit model pack 5 works some what weapons scalling is a problem and weapon offset needs to be edited.

I will be willing to do this as well if there is any demand for it.






Strange note using X10 to take screen shots the weapons don't show up I had to use print screen weird..???

Normal maps would be awesome. Model Pack 6 (along with the stock weapons w/hands Simons released) are my main weapons of choice for my projects, especially since Loc gave me the new hand texture (which I still owe him for - I haven't forgotten )

I need to try putting Mp6 in X10 again...I tried it before, but all the animations seemed slowed-down (dramatically) and the textures on some weapons were messed up - but I'll try again, copy & paste this time, instead of just installing it like I did the first time.

I'm pretty much done with the normal maps...Any other shader I should take into account???

I would love to see the hands and weapons react to bloom or different cloured light maps...doesn't work correctly just darkens and lightens *sob* Guess there is a fix for it some where...

the animation slowdowns could also be due to your system specs??

As for the stock weapon hands I will have a look and see what I can do still have to download them...

I did notice in the effectbank is two shaders one weapon shader and the other a weaponhand shader I'm not sure what maps it requires but I'll soon figure out.I guess the best way is to read the shader file and find out what makes it tik...

I'll take a look at the shader files myself and see what's in there. You might want to look and see if they use illumination maps and whatnot, as I'm not entirely sure what all they use.

The slow down should certainly not be my specs though. Everything is timer based and I can run X10 at a good 100 to 200 fps. Hell, with a driver update I can finally run Crysis on High with no sweat (well...the computer does heat up a bit ) Again, I'll have to expirement again. I think some slight slow-down should be expected because all animations seem slower in X10, although they do seem nicer that way (particularly characters)

The stock weapons with hands should already be normal mapped, hopefully it isn't upset by the hands.

Thanks I will have a look.Pretty much screwed looks like I need refraction as well...I will have a look at what I can sort out.

Just a note to the guys that copied over the folders in the script tab of the weapons a shader file needs to be picked as well for the weapon to be used.I forgot to mention it oooops!!I just chose the weapon shader didn't have any effect but it still worked 100% correctly!!!

Huh. I must have been doing something wrong, cause when I tried the G3's texture on the magazine was messed up. I'll have to go fiddle with it some more, tired of waiting

EDIT: I went ahead and fiddled with it. The G3's texture on the clip is messed up Some of the weapons seem okay but others don't. Is there something I'm missing here?

Have no idea of what you might be doing wrong...??

If you do the import step by step it should work 100%.It could be X10 version as well I have not updated still on ver 101!!!

I have all model packs I have working.It takes time.As a lot of files need to be edited to get scaling or position correct.MP3 is still a work in progress but I should be done with that soon...

No prob dude.Busy painting the house it's taking up alot of my time.

Got every thing pretty much together.

The maps still need to be compressed need to make a duplication of file route edit the FPI files(FPI files might take awhile) and a installer pretty sure not many people would know where is should go.

However still working on getting the hand normals to be affected by bloom and light the two doesn't seem to go well.Just getting that fixed and I should have a download up.

There is no rush in getting MP3 in any case because for one there is no shaders for the official MP3...

So yeah having to normal map and test 2000+ textures is not that fun at all....

I think you mp6 is the most wanted pack ever for fpsc Its just with one of the weapons packs you can make your game a lot more atractive with fpscX10 (hands)... I think most angry men here feel the same... The guns packs are the most wanted, for us the noobs

i know.... AlanC it looks like i am the bad guy.... it donst matter wich guns pack for me really, one is good enough really! But the wizard prosimed this pack 4 months ago, and his post titles gave the impression, that the release was very close... Its not about TGC or FPSC are bad far from even! I love it... But i cant release my game, because the guns dont work proper without a offcial pack... And the official weapons dont take me wrong are far for use for commercial release....

i have a game with over 31 levels and its good! but no MPgun pack no release... It would kill the game,really!

I would even like to pay the wizard of ID for just releasing a good MPgun pack!

I've got all of them working (un-synced with the sounds because weapon animations are slower, but working - need to bug Lee about that) except the G3. For some reason the magazine texture isn't properly applied. I might have to go mess with it.

Lol you guys crack me up.Yeah sorry I have been really really busy.

I have picked up a huge problem I'm still not able to fix.
I have to date checked edited and modified all MP6 textures.In test mode every thing seems to be fine then I did a build game and every was messed up.

Still have to do some tests not sure if the normals or spec maps are messing things up.It is likely that I might have to reapply the texture map completely and reload the weapons completely, however if this does happen I can't supply the files as I would have to supply the model files as well.

So I'm hoping for a work around.

Some other good news I'm hoping to get done today.I haven't been on the forums for a while so I don't know if it has been infact fixed but model pack 3 segments had a problem with the outer wall being higher than the inner wall I found a fix for it.I also done so extra work on model packs 3 by changing the floor segment textures as well as applying other meshes to MP3.

All I need to supply is the segments folder,it's all you need.

Well as a good developer I'm busy completely converting MP3 with shaders and all.A lot of things still need to be done and specular maps needs to be fixed...

Let me know if any one wants it it takes about 4 hours just to do the floors ceilings and walls

Some screenies ( like i said the specular maps still needs fixing)

BTW I got MP6 working it was a problem with the D2 textures still in DXT1 format which has been converted to DXT5 now will upload some screenies later

Well here is the G3 weapon I tried the specular maps in all possible configurations outcome is always more or less the same I'm thinking that the normals maps needs some more tweaking.Just bump the here and there.Should give a more smoother look.

it shouldn't take me more than a day or two to sort out.Another problem I still have to figure out is the weapons not showing up when taking screenshots...Now there is a big problem and I'm still working on it.So sorry for the long wait shouldn't be longer any more.

Yay So I fixed the normal map problem and everything looks 100% till another problem and there is no way getting around it.

The textures on some hands needs to be remap point period it means were screwed.The work around which I don't like much is to have the guns normal and specular map only and ignore the hands.

The good news is about 4 weapons that have this problem oh and the grenade launcher crashes the editor might just require some fine tweaking in FPE file I'm hoping...

Here is another screenies this will be the final result might tweak the normal map just a tad more but specular maps work 100% this time around.


OH btw I need to know which specular mapping would you prefer the G3 type mapping toned down a bit

or the screenshot I'm posting now

Hi guys just a quick update.

I have a huge problem I have tried to fix the texture problem with some guns and in doing so I have lost the gun and hand animations in testing you get a finger pointing towards your target and shooting bullets....

So yeah now I have to try and retain animation LOL !!!
