FPS Creator X10 / lag problems

ok, so i made a map today in x10 it was nothing special just a test to see wht it was like and it lagged straight away. the first room only had 2 levles with some staris and metal gantray. and of course there was the door. why is it lagging for somthing so pathetic.

my system specs are:
graphics: nvidia 8600gt
intelq6600 2.4ghz processor
4gb ram
visat home preium

Should run ok.
Did you check your TaskManager (Processes Tab)?
Perhaps there is something in the background eating up all the memory, or hogging the CPU?

TO check the taskmanager, right click in an empty space on the task bar for Windows and select "Task Manager".

I have the same problem.

My specs are

Vista Ultimate 32Bit
GeForce 8800GT
Intel C2D E6750 2.66GHz
2GB DDR2

I created a moderate stage with nothing fancy, no lights no windows no water or anything of the sort. I just followed the basics of the tutorial videos for doors and elevators. But just in the starting room I made which has absolutely nothing in it I get 8FPS. But if I look straight at the ceiling it jumps to 35+ in a split second.

I ran all the updates that were available but still has issues. Am I missing something?

I just find it hard to believe that I can play Oblivion with max settings at 1280x1024 with 35FPS but I can't play around in a small FPS stage lol.
