Hi, if I installed direct X 8.1 on my Windows Vista with direct X 10 and then re install direct X 9 then direct X 10 will everything still work normally on my PC, e.g. FPSC X 10?

Thanks.

I am trying to install and play an old Star Trek game, Star Trek Fleet Command 3. I bought it a few years ago but never played on it and it needs direct X 8.1 to run.

I wondered if installing direct X 8.1 then X 9 then X 10 afterwards will allow the game to run and still let me use all of the direct X 10 stuff?

Thanks.

Well they are backwards compatible so if you install 9 and 10 then you should be able to run your old games that require 8.1

Thanks.
