I'm making a file interface program; sorta like a 3-d windows explorer, but I want it to be able to do different things depending on what the extension is (if it's a picture texture it onto a plain ect..) but I don't know how to search the filename string to find out what it's extension is.

if you'd like to see what I've got so far go to my websitehttp://www.geocities.com/tgslee2000

Thanks.

Never mind, I figured it out.

But the execute file command dosen't want to just tell a .exe to run. it works for starting documents in internet explorer though...
