All I want is a script that is like default.fpi, only it starts on animation frame 50. So it spawns on 50, and stays like that. Thanks!

All I want is world peace, a hydrogen car, and to be king of Ireland...

Could we at least get a "pretty please"?

EDIT: I'm deferring to Plystire's logic. Best of luck to you, in your endeavours.

Irregardless of the newest sticky to this board, the sticky below it is STILL in effect.

If you have not tried it, I fail to see a reason for me to do it for you.

But! To be helpful, here is a link to a scripting tutorial to get you started:

You can go from there. If you're interested in scripting, or even in FPSC... I'd say you would need to eventually learn how to script. You've been here for a while and it's surprising that you've never learned it. It's easy, and knowing how to script will help you to make your FPSC games/levels/whatever much much better in the long run.

There, I was of some use in this thread.

ok Iam trying to help & learn at the same time.
so would it look like this?

the only problem is it looks to simple to be correct i'd have Seth Black or Plystire tell you to be sure.

I gave it my best shot

Edit: I tested it it works but all he does is jump in place, if thats what frame 50 does then it works

That script will have it loop animation 50, not set the model to animation frame 50. Sorry, but good try.

One question, if its so very simple, why don't you have a go trying to script it yourself......

It was kinda simple, but I think I got the FPE wrong...

You have to change his FPE stuff... Entities get their animate numbers from the FPE files and the files like gunspec, flakspec, etc. You need to modify the FPE file. Add this line to the bottom the character's FPE file:

Then use this script:

EDIT: Huh? Code snippets don't work...

...unfortunately, this won't work.

This script will also only loop animation 50...

xyzz is on the right track... just make sure you say "animate=92" because that's the animation number you set up for frame 50.

@Dar13:

THe manual says:
Quote: "SETFRAME=X
set animation X start frame"

Meaning it will set the animation frame to the START of animation X. In your script's case, animation 50.

Make an animation number in the entity's FPE file that is just frame 50, like xyzz did. Then give the script the animation number for the animation you just made.

Sometimes I wonder why we even have a manual, it's very vague about everything and just about no body even reads it.

@ Plystire:
Actualy, I prefer reverse engineering FPE files and such, only referring to the manual when I'm stuck somewhere. Didn't work with FPI, though. Until I read a tutorial, it looked like some confusing and counter-intuitive scripting language made of various forms of ":".
