I know it sounds stupid but how do you download the final product into a disk?

Uhh, like a CD/DVD? Well, all you need is a CD/DVD burner, CD/DVD Write disks, a burning program like Nero. Then you make a data CD.

Compile the code into an EXE (F5). Then just use a program like Osiris suggested to burn the EXE and any media your project uses onto a blank CD.
