I don't know if this sounds like a good idea or not, but since there is the 20 line challenge, why not a no media file challenge. The challenge is to make a game requiring no media files. Then we can have others viewing it judge what they think of the games by:
1)How fun it is
2)The quality of its eye candy
3)How little coding there is(need to make it challenging)
Just post it on this post or something. See what happens.

None of my 20-line entries require any media anyway.

It's not a bad idea. Why not make a no media competition? So you can make your game(without media) in 2 months. Than you could make your own editors for example where you made your objects only out of primitives, and without textures. It could be interesting to see what the most b-e-a-utiful game would be without media.

it doesnt has to be without textures... you could code your textures using the make bitmap command... or should we forbid this? (coz that's also media...)

It's fine if you make your own bitmaps using line and dot commands(etc), but the thing is that it would require more coding. That is why I said we should award more points for a more limited amount of coding. See what they can do in a small amount of coding.

I think no EXTERNAL media, cos thats just stupid, you could say that making an object is media .
