I am looking for someone who can retexture some pack 4 character models. I am willing to pay $200.00 for 10 retextures. The textures won't be needed till sometime then.

No modeling work, just retextures.

Thanks.

For that amount of money you could buy two PaintShop Pro's. One for you and one for me. You just might wan't to do them you're self. I know what you're thinking "I don't wan't to put the time into this for one game!" but the truth is, textures are VARY easy to make with PaintShop Pro!

People here on the fourms are seeking people like you.....you know.....n00b's(no afence) to make a quick buck. With enough time (It only took me a weekend to figure out PaintShop Pro) and a little creative thinking, I think you can do it!

BOOM!!!!!! HEAD SHOT!!!

10 pounds per model, £5.52 per hour is the UK minimum wage.
so at minimum wage you get 1 hour 49 mins of work.

I think you need a bigger budget. Or perhaps less of a reskin and more of an alter, like spend an hour on each one adding bits here and there, cutting and pasting bits and just a bit of colouring.

I'll do it depending on the style of the characters and what you want them to be...

altered faces and slightly altered clothing. They should look like different characters.

Must be nice, in the US, the min wage is half of that.

The reason I think 200.00 is fair, is because the time frame is huge. you have 2 - 3 months to get this done. I am not asking for something to be finished by next week.

No not nice, we pay double what you pay for stuff in the stores, and we are taxed to the maximum.

We pay income tax, we pay sales tax, we pay for a college education, and don't get free medical care or all of that other cool socialized stuff you all get.

Out of our checks, we have social security taken out, federal tax, medicare, state tax, etc... About 30% of my check is gone before I am paid. I then have to pay an additional 7 - 9% for sales tax.

So we make half of what you do and pay out about 38% (min) of what we earn to the government who then turns around and gives it to other countries for no good reason and then blows up the country they just gave the money too.

I have to say, I win the losers war.

I would have to say that as of a few years ago, europe is far better financially secure place to live than the US. Heck it is to late for me, but if I was planning to have kids, I would be relocating there this very minute.

I could do it too. I will get some examples up soon. But if you choose me, you will have to pay 50% before, and 50% after the job.

if anyone is interested, please send me an email to jeremiah411@missouristate.edu and provide samples (links) of your work.

Thanks for interest Danial.

Who ever impresses me the most wins, I don't care about lowering the price in a bidding war so don't bother trying to under bid. I figure that 200 is the lowest I should go as it is a decent amount of work.

Since I upgraded to Vista, I don't have any of my character textures on my hard drive, but the segments in Tristan Craft and the Lost City were made by me, aside from the moss and greenery.

darimc. In order for me to pay half up front, I will need references and a home phone number. This goes for everyone. I don't normally start paying until you show me some work of mine that you have started. To many people offer, and then run with the money.

If you do a good job, there will be more work. I can model, but I can't texture worth a crap (UV's drive me nuts) so I need someone I can call on for work.

How would 50% when I'm half done, and the other 50% when I'm done. I am a little paranoid because I have recently been ripped off when doing custom work.

UK minimum wage is £3.40 per hour for all workers under the age of 18.

and really as texturing is sadly barely a skill nowdays and your most likely asking for somebody who is far from pro. I believe $200 in itself is quite high price for just 10 re textures.

Goodluck I hope you dont loose out

Half done works just fine. I just need to know that you are doing the work that I have requested and that you are just not feeding me yarn. I am sure none of you are, but in business the first rule is no matter how much you like a guy, don't trust him. The second rule, is the more you like ... trust him even less.

At the very least it will take a week to re-texture these to my specifications. Please nobody else post such odd offers. I appreciate you wanting to bid, but I need high quality work done. People can't and don't do high quality work for $5.00.

Plus I am needing the character to look like certain types.

i.e.

A politician
A lonely housewife
A drunk arse
A serial killer with a patch over his left eye
etc...

Ya i'll do those for $5 a texture(including variations) make them good also some variations of them if you want. I'm a generous person and since you were generous to offer $200 i'll be generous to offer lower.

Quote: "I then have to pay an additional 7 - 9% for sales tax."

Try 17.5% for the UK
Quote: "we pay for a college education"

so do we.
Quote: "other cool socialized stuff you all get"

And we have tea and crumpets for elevenses and the men dop their hats to passing ladies, you've been watching too many movies, Ive met American holiday makers, they come here and expect to be falling over castles and that Hugh Grant has a real accent

We pay more taxes in the UK than the US and living costs are much higher. We pay 22% basic tax and people that earn over 34000 GBP you pay 40% income tax, plus tax on property, doesn't matter if you own it or not, you still pay the full whack, we are taxed into oblivion, the UK is not a socialist paradise by a long stretch, for some odd reason Americans think it is and that they pay dear for products, come to the UK for your holidays and see how poor you will become, your money will go no where, even more so with the low exchange rates on the USD to the GBP, you will get nothing for your dollar, makes it dear for you to buy from us, and too expensive for us to sell to you as our stuff will be too expensive to sell to you, and that's just visiting, never mind living here, anyone that makes big money leaves the place.
By the way the only free thing we get is National health, ie health care, everything else you pay for,we also get a pension but so do US citizens, and yes US health insurance is way over the top expensive, thats criminal, so thats the only thing we get, everything else for us is worse in terms of paying out.

Now back on topic, Jeremiah you need to post a description of exactly what you want, perhaps even posting example images of the quality you want.

@ All others, the same applies to you, if you take on the on this request please be prepared to finish it. If you start something, take the money and not fulfil the job you will also be banned for life.

Thanks for everyones emails.

@Nickydude, I would never cheat anyone.

The deal I work out, is the person shows me the work they have done for me via the web with an abusive watermark and I release half of the funds. They then deliver, I test out the texture on the model and if everything is hunkey dorey, I pay the rest.

All total, I am actually looking for over 50 re-textures in this next year. I am also going to be looking for 5 brand new models and 10 Car models along with other misc. But that is not for now, just trying to show everyone that I am looking towards a major investment for a comercial game that I am developing.

How to make money with fpsc as an independent game developer.

1) Make something with a tight budget and a great story (took me 5 months)
2) Find people looking to make an investment (venture capitalist) (took another 4 months)
3) Take the money and run (just kidding) Create a higher end game (my current step)
4) Show to venture capitalist and convince them to give you a ton of money. (oh dear god, I hope I can make it here)
5) Produce a high end game, split money earned with venture capitalist, if game flops... I hope you saved some of that capital in your back yard.

Also make sure that the contract you sign with the venture capitalist does not include a clause declaring they can recuperate their losses from you.

Jeremiah,

I just completed a move, and everything is currently in transit, at this time.

Should you still be interested in an artist for the retexture, I'll forward some of my work to you, once the media arrives at my location.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Probably need to create a new thread to get an answer, but nickydude, did you send me an email inquiring about wanting this assignment?

Someone claiming to be you, emailed me telling me they would do the job for half up front and that I could trust them since they are you and a moderator. I am not buying this, but just in case, let me know.

Yo Jeremiah, Yahoo is giving me some strange error message whenever I try to reply to you, so I can't send you the texture. I'm going to be gone for a couple of days (I'm leaving in like an hour), so I won't be able to try again until Saturday night.

My original email:

Quote: "Yo, I'm gonna be going out of town for a couple days, so I will be away from the computer. I don't want to hold you up with the whole texture thing, so here's what I got so far. I didn't get around to changing the text on the character to some grungy prison numbers and stuff, nor did I get around to changing his tattoo (which I wanted to do). Those are both really easy to do, though. I have come to the realization that there is no way to make the hood look loose when it's applied, seeing as you can see every detail of the characters face because the model remains the same, so I went for a really tight hood look. The files are attached. Just drop them in your Model Pack 4 folder and put the character "Prison Inmate (Hood) 1" into your level.

- Kyle"

(I didn't feel like typing that again)

And the .zip is attached. Enjoy.

Hey everyone since I just commissioned that done, if anyone wants to use, you are free to do so. Thats not the final version anyway.

@inspire, thats a good start and a tight hood is fine. Whenever you can get around to changing the rest, do so at your own time frame. I have 5 other people working on other assignments. 50 new textures is going to be quite the undertaking, and if everyone is nice, I will probably release 10 free to the community as I am ordering more than I will probably need for my game.
