np. The Impatience song is in the .MID format already. I just have to send you the Coffee song in .MID format.

Also, I think I'll work on another song tonight - I'll save it out in the .MID format as well and send it to ya.

One thing - you have to change the name beacuse Activision has trademarked "Guitar Villain".
And nice project. Hope it runs better than python-based FoF...

@ flickenmaste: what kind of error? I can't help you unless I have more info.
However, here are a few possible problems:
The song is not in the .MP3 format. The demo will only accept MP3s
The note chart is not in the .TXT format. The demo will only accept .TXTs.
The note chart is too long. I did notice that when I tried to do an outrageously long song, it wouldn't work. I will fix this in the final version, but it may be your problem.
You didn't put the files in the correct directory. The song must me in the "Songs" folder, and the note chart must be in the "note files" folder.
You typed in the file path. You are only supposed to type in the file name(AND have the files in the correct folsders). For example, "my_song.mp3" and "My_song.txt". Do NOT type in the file path.
Other than that, I can't tell you the problem until I get more information.

i wanted to play bulls on parade...i tpyed in bulls_on_parade for the txt file and bulls_on_parade for the MP3 and then i said error and line 90 or something like that

Humm.... let me know if you want full midi support? I can dump off my midi format for you so you can preset notes into your game.... That would of coarse be the qmidi program...but it does do a good job. Check out rudolphos tracked song 'Themanwhosoldtheworld' that would be a good one to throw in your game....and if you set it up to import qmidi files into your game then anyone can make songs to try playing in your game as well ? Anyways let me know if you want the file info on the qmo extension. This would make it very easy to import notes

Oh and i suppose that this could also be used like rock band....since qmidi supports all instrument sounds.

oh and also it does bend notes like a wammy bar...lol (another idea)

@Deathead: I doubt it will be used for games, but game publishers often register names that are never used. And Gamespot said:

It's often used to prevent cheap rip-offs by other companies or other maeketing uses...

Anyways looking good.

Will the game be like FoF where you can't fail? Or will it be more akin to Guitar Zero 2 where you can fail and there is starpower?

I just got around to running your demo and I enter in the note file and MP3 file for "Bulls_on_parade" but it just exits without notice. It's not the same error as flickenMaste's btw.

I just ran the demo and I ran into the same problem, BUT I now know why its doing that.
The string inside the Bulls_on_parade.txt is too long for DBPro to read. If I store the exact same string internally as an array, it works fine. So if you cut some of the characters out of the file, it will work. Unfortunately, only if its at least half the song. I'll be fixing this ASAP.
@ flickemaste:
Did you type in the file extensions (.txt, and .mp3) as part of the filename? I have determined that that is whats causing your error.

... Its not done yet, but that doesn't mean its dead. I'm still doing work on it, albeit slowly. I don't have as much time to devote to this as I did a month or so ago. I have much more school work, several personal projects, and a whole new section of my website to get up and running.
