Does anyone know of a place or does anyone have tutorials that I could follow in making a 3D Human model? Your help will be appreciated. Thanks for the replies.

SuperCort2003, if I'm correct, in another forum you just were looking for an easy 3d modeler?

NOW YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THIS SUPERCORT2003!

You cannot just start out by modeling a human, when you've just gotten a 3d modeling program, especially if you are new to 3D. Even then your model will probebly end up looking like crap.(no offense)

The best way to start modeling(in my opionion), is to just dive in by downloading the wings3d pdf document, and start making spaceships.
(with no tutorials)

You needa get a good feel the program before you just decide to build human models. It's simple logic.Take it slow, and pace yourself 30-60 minutes a day, and you'll get the hang of it.

A couple threads down, or maybe on the next page I posted something very important, that everyone seemed to ignore.(it was also about 3d modeling)

It went somthing like this.

"There is no such thing as an "easy" program.Easy comes by putting forth time and effort into your work, and even then the standards of your work will only rise."

OMFUC**** GOD!!

The heat is getting to me about how stupid some people are.
I'm not even going to anwser this question.

If you don't know how to search the internet then you're a complete moron.I'm sorry, but there is a newcomers section, that has a post with a link of about 20 resources at the top, and wings3d happens to be one of them.

I apologize to the mods, and the other Respectable, non-idiot people of this forum for my harsh words.

Go to Google and type in Wings 3D or look at the links yellow was talking about. But yeah yellow. I'll take your advice. Thanks for the replies! Later! Oh and yeah I know about pacing. I'm not an idiot, you know it's just that you want your game to be made so badly that you forget that it takes time. Thanks yellow for the reminder. OK Later![img]http://www.heroicimages.com/Resources/Images/sboy_soar.jpg[href]

Does Wings 3D have something like the texture coordonate editor in milkshape?

Yes, wings3d does have a texture coordinator(uv mapper), well sorta. You're better off downloading lithunwrap3d, and using that though.

(I couldn't resist, I'll have to give the link.)

Just read around the website, and you'll learn all you need.

i would have to agree with darkfluff. I've done extremely complex humanoid shapes with clothing in wings3d and i used the built in uvmapper. an milkshape uvmapper sucks. It is only planar mapping. Lith is good, but to me, wings uvmapping is 10 times easier and quicker. Just my opinion.

Lol, the Wings mapper is planar only as well, it just lays down all the faces on a flat surface

all uv mapping lays down on a flat surface....all texture files are 2 dimensional images after all. But planar projection is not all wings does. If you select unfold instead of projection, then you get a cylindrical or spherical unmapping....based on shape of object, faces selected and where the cut lines are.

But with milkshape, you only have planar, which means that textures will stretch as the polygons get parallel to the projection angle. Like a humanoid model would look great from the front and back. But from the side or top you would see texture stretching. And i don't mean a little.....it's a lot and looks like total crap in a game engine.

I stand corrected Though, you can move the vertices around in milkshape, and make the stretching to a minimum. Ive done it before. Texture/Model quality doesnt depend on the software you use, it depends on how much time you put forth to it.
