I have been dabbling with fps free for few days now, as i was looking for a program where i would actually have to do some coding, I was hesitant at first, but so far i like it, I see its potential and i wanna pick it apart and get down and dirty with it.

You must have DarkBasic Professional and the latest upgrade,and you also need DarkLights to compile properly.You get the source in the extras with the latest upgrade.

You do not need DarkLights. The DLLs that are provided for compiling the source are all that you need.

It does, however, help to have certain packs of TGC's repretoire to make interesting Mods.

Hi, i just got fps creatorx9 with a couple of packs and man im having so much fun with. Im still strugling with the freakin AI but i just started today. Im amased by the way things can look with proper lightning. my only problem is with floors/ceillings and interior walls/exterior walls. I dont seem to be able to have the ceilling looking different the the floor on the upper level and same thing for both side of a wall. Anyway apart from that its awmadafakinsome. 1

Wife bought me V1 + a bunch of packs and I upgraded to 1.116
Now I read [here] about an x9 & x10 ??
I'm so confused. DO I need to spend more to get current?
Also, can anyone tell me what happened to the 11-15 bundle??
I don't show them in my library, nor did they show in the dwnlds.

Hello all. I've been posting from time-to-time, but I'm new to FPSC. I come from film/screenwriting and want to begin my education in game design -- specifically writing for games. After a lot of research (and not having the money to return to school for game design) -- downloading a host of other "beginner engines" -- I found FPSC to be the best out-of-the-box. And after searching the community demos and custom content, I see more potential with FPSC than originally thought.

Yes, FPSC may not be the engine of the "next DOOM" (or radical jump forward in technology), but coming from film...

Are the best films always the most technologically amazing? No. The best films are the ones that most wisely utilize the available technology to tell the BEST STORIES. The best stories will always be the best stories. So, in games, I would guess this could be somewhat the same (although many believe the opposite)...

Can a great game be made on an older/limited engine? Certainly... but it will take attention to good storytelling, an involving and emotive world, and a keen (maybe genius?) use of a limited engine (most film and game design is built on a large degree of "fakery"). And, in a world where internet content and flash games have become common-place, there is definitely a market for good games.

I like to give a notice to everyone. the list of the 3rd party sites from FPSC Moderator

(A Comprehensive List of 3rd-Party Tools for FPSCreator; some are free and some require a small fee for use. Find this list here).

On that list is the Magic FPS program at the
http://www.uberdroid.com/fastfps/ site.

DO NOT ORDER THIS!!

I have made an order a couple of days ago for the full version of the program and to follow the routine to download it which have sent me to the Tradebit website. The problem was that it wasn't there and I was inform from Tradebit support group that it has been removed due to copyright issues, and to contact uderdroid to get a refund.

I have done this and I received a block from them to where my email did not go through. I am trying again to see if I can get a response.

If anybody knows how I can get the program or to get my refund it would be great.

Looks like it's being rejected because the mailbox is full. Be aware that they may be a legitimate reason why he / she isn't answering (may be through illness). Sorry you couldn't get it solved though.
