greetings
I was told that there is a limit to the size a 3d world can be in DB. I want to make a game where there are two enemy bases far apart on oposite corners of the map. They need to be really far apart so I'm wondering if there really is a limit in world size. Also, how does one use models made in 3dstudio in a game? is there an import command? Does it accept .3ds, or .chr, or do I need to convert to .x
thanx

1. No limit (i think its been a while since i used classic) but the size will also factor the speed.

2. It can use 3ds but i'm not sure about .chr .

Opinions are like a$$holes, Everybody has one.

1) There is a limit of polygons in DB classic but I don't remember how many... But you can make really huge polygons and thus a big map. And you can have a fast yet large map: If you're making a top-down view, a small part of the matrix will be rendered so it's a little fast.
2) There is only partial support for 3DS, and no support for CHR. If you want your models to look good, export them to .X
Hope this helps...

Oh, I forgot:
If you don't want to make a big matrix you can make it look big by scaling all the objects on it and bringing the camera closer.
