Hey all ,

I have finally finished my rpg 7 completely , it took me 4 days but I'm happy with the result. The UV was definitely a pain.. So i made 2 textures for it. The model was made for next gen engine.. like fspc X10.

Anyway tell me what you think of it , and any C&C are welcome .

body texture.

Scope and Grenade.

The real textures are of course 1024.

Somebody please give me a job...

Nice man, No bad crit coming you're way.
(Also you may wanna spec/normal map it to make it look better in when rendering. .)

Very good work, my friend! Impressive! Could you tell me how to do the reflection you have on the scope?

Best.

Looks great, man. How accurate is the optic mesh? Just finished Stalker last week and the optic looks quite different. The grenade looks a little on the small side. Really nice texture.

da power pwnerer , Lol the lens of the weapon was the only real photo that was used on the texture :p and its actually a lens

Errant AI , I have followed a real rpg reference but i made my own "small" modifications to it. So it isn't 100 % right.
Stalker is a great game , At this moment i stuck at Clear Sky mission where I actually have to kill Strelok.
BTW I was always wondering where you got your weapon reference images , do you have a specific good site ? or do also just Google them up like me ?

Alucard94 , sure np what angle do you want ?

EDIT: here is my reference of the RPG

Just render the same angles at before but a bit larger would be good. It would be easier to spot places that might be worth criticizing, if there are any.

I'd be spoiling thing a bit if I were to say anything about STALKER but I will say enjoy the meat of the game because the ending is anti-climactic and pretty much a jip, IMO. I think clear skies is about 2/3 of the game if it's what I'm thinking it was... with the scorcher and all.

I don't have any specific site and I get about 15% directly from google imagesearch. The majority I pick up randomly from various forum and such unexpectedly. I have my own mini-database with hundreds of weapons where I dump reference as I find it for anything and everything that piques my interest. Sometimes it takes a year before I have enough that I actually want to make a model or I find an orgy of reference which makes me drop whatever I'm doing and start something new.

Pic attached from my collection. I've got enough to build accurately. Just waiting for FPSC mod improvements so that I can animate/function properly because I hate using the "weaponisammo" function. edit-pic removed from post

Yea to bad they still have some major quest bugs , but i found the game very inspiring in any of my projects .. if you haven't noticed yet

You know that i was looking more then 3 days for that reference image that you posted.. So thanks for it , I may redo the scope mesh.

Alucard94 , I have added the bigger render , hope you can find something.

Somebody please give me a job...

No problem. I've removed the image but if you didn't get it, I'll email it to you. Sometimes really good reference is temporary because it was created for an auction or something. Plus google ranks results by hits so if you ignore something it might not be there when you search again a few months later.

Are you doing your own animations now? My dance card is pretty full right now but If you need an animator for this, give me a shout.

edit
= another small crit. Your woodgrain is the wrong direction.

Makarov looks good. One minor crit is that the area at the top of the grip you have bulging should be an inward scallop because it's the thumbrest.

fforgotten studios , Just don't create your model out of one piece.
Pay more attention to the basics and the details and you should be fine. I made everything of planes and cylinders.

Thanks Errant , I don't exactly understand what you mean.
Is the grip inwards ? :S

I'm using c4d indeed and photoshop for texturing. The models suppose to be custom work but now the buyer don't want them anymore so I just continued on the project.
Maybe I will release this maybe not..Personally I don't see any point in it cause Errant is owning GCS with his weapon

still working on it...

yesyesyes

Two things... I'm not sure exactly what the area that looks like a toggle switch is supposed to be because in some pics it has a cover or something on it. Also, the glass part of the eyepiece is too close to the back and should be about where the eye cup/rubbery part starts.

Ideally, make a hollow tube in the scope behind the eyepiece because with Airmod, it's possible to do a 3D scope view which looks pretty slick because you can have some recoil and flash/smoke when shooting but I don't mind making the mods durring the animation process.

Looks great and I'm glad you put the detail into this part because like I said, it will be pretty much all the player sees except when reloading.

Is it possible to have a functioning rpg? Is the rocket animated to launch or? I'm unsure how something like this would work. and what would be the method of setting the animation up if so? Is it even possible to have a projectile working?

Thanks henry , great to hear you like it !

yea Errant , I have made a other research about that switch cause I was so confused about it lol. Anyway I have found a good weapon review about that rpg.
Check this out(its a pdf file) , on page 9 you will find 3 nice pics of the sight and the switch. So I think I made that part right but still going to edit that lens.

But how do i have to made that hollow in the lens ? I mean the real one works with mirrors , how its possible to do that in Airmod ?

Crav3 , I don't have any idea how to do that..
