I know you can't change the explosion decal through the Flakspec file but where exactly is the default decal and what is it called? Thanks in advance.

You can't? Why not?
The explosions are decals, which each have their own subfolder in the decals folder..

C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\decals

The flakspec file defines the decal used for that weapon.
For instance the modernday/law has the following in its flakspec file...

Quote: "

;FLAK Explosion
exponfloor = mushroom
expinair = smokey

"

So, those are the two decals used for its explosions.
So if you change that mushoom and smokey to say redbang then you will see different explosions when you use the law.

Sorry, Conjured, but that was removed a long time ago, those options are now useless in the latest versions (unless Lee forgot to mention that he put them back in)

I think someone told me that he took them out in favor of a "3D" explosion using particles.

I put those options back in for Ply's Mod, though, as meteorite pointed out. I made it so you can use the new method or the old method or both together.

You can, however, change the images that FPSC uses for it's hardcoded explosion, but this will change the way explosions appear for ALL flak.

That's what I would like to do. Could you tell me the location of those files?

gamecore\debris\

In that folder, I believe the images you're looking for are "fire.tga" and "smoke.tga"

Yet another reason to use Ply's Mod...
