you mean the fire effect at the end of the gun?

you could use a textured plain (with transparency) with some gunfire stripes on it... when shooting rotate it each shot by some degrees

Man, that is vague in the description department, I have a 3d machine gun code that someone wrote for me, but I need to go find it again.

First off, is the game 2d or 3d, is it a first or third person shooter (view,) what is meant by machine gun effect, do you want a rapid fire gun, a flash of light of the gunpowder going off, or the marks it leaves on the wall.

Its almost impossible to help you with that description. I wonder if this is another hit & away posts that this forum gets quite frequently.

Well, im going back to modeling my ingame player models for my game, I will try to post some screenshots in the team request forum at some point when I get more.

sorry about the discription. I was in a bit of a hurry.
I need a way to make the flash from the end of the gun in a 1st person 3D shoot em' up game. I would also like to know how to check if the bullet hit an enemy.

Well, the flash from the end of the gun is usualy a sprite, that is displayed if the key is held down & keeps being displayed repeatedly for every second that its held down, as for the collision, im not sure, I havnt been working with maching gun code that much at this time.

For the bullet collision use something like this

You'll need to add some error checking (if object exist) but that's easy enough to do. I hope that helps, and I hope the code shows (I'm new.)
