You spelled your own name incorrectly on the title.

Also, i'd recommend getting a proper domain name, not one from webs.com.

Also, I recommend lowering the poly counts from the 140k's that isnt even nearly useable in a game, aim for 3k maximum for a really really new-gen top of the line game, 900-1k for a normal fps game.

It would've been a lot easier to bump a previous thread.
And I was looking at your stuff when you had your other thread. It looked okay.

This kind of thread annoys me, If you are going to offer a solution then at least make it usable, five high poly models of guns with no texture is only half a job, If its worth doing its worth doing it PROPERLY.

Also it appears you have had atleast two domains, so where are you going to move to next. If some one buys one of your models are you going to change your email?

Take a look at what Dexsoft, John H and various others offer.

I give ip with thos baner fing as it never seems to work for me. I woll now stop wasting mu time.

1. Don't post your age.
2. That's sort of a stupid comment, most likely you posted here to show your models, seeing as you apparently don't want actual sales, and if you want to show your models you want critique to make you improve. So telling people to get out if they don't like it don't really work.
3. I bet he could.

...that's fine. You won't make much, so it works out.

Quote: "2. don't post a comment if you dont like it"

...I wasn't commenting on your models themselves. They seem to be average, and perhaps someone will find use for them.

My comment, which is very much the truth, is in regards to the sloppy and amatuerish way that you're trying to present yourself. You'll really not make any money, with the approach you're using.

Quote: "3. can u do better?"

...at presenting and marketing wares? Absolutely. I can spell, too.

...at modeling? Probably. I'm not trying to sell anything, so that's really none of your concern. Is it?

Please dont get me wrong, And credit to you for trying to make your own way in this world. I think you may learn a usefull lesson on life by our comments. You are more than welcome in these forums as are all.

If you want to sell some models to anyone on any site offer a full model including texture, If you can a bump and specular map.
Its not like we are trying to upset you, If you had come to us asking for advice on how to improve, we would have gladly given it for what ever software you use. However offering models that have no texture and saying that is easy you can do that yourself is only doing a part of the work. I know that over 3/4 of my time making a model is on the texture alone.

I apologise for being a little too harsh, but if you want too make some money out of your modelling dont spam these forums, come to us with a model and ask what do I need to do to make these work for you and how can I best serve this communtiy. Do this for every forum you have posted on, you will learn a lot and hopefully earn more money. Once you have a good product, that fills the requirements then post saying you have something to sell.

I give ip with thos baner fing as it never seems to work for me. I woll now stop wasting mu time.

Now you are getting the idea,

Before we get to the texturing, Your models are way too high in the poly count, anything more than around 1500 polys for a gun would be a little excesive. Low poly modelling for games is more about what not to model than what to model. You do not need to model all the screws with smoothing groups we can reduce the need for polys in many areas etc.

There are plenty of tutorials out there to get you started.Hang around and read a few posts on what others have to say and 80% of your questions will be answered.

What software are you currently using for modeling?, also for UVMapping try UU3D (Ultimate Unwrap 3D) theres a demo available.

Oh also, http://www.freewebs.com/mitsiee/apps/forums/topics/show/106086-license get a license, otherwise people can do whatever they want with the model legally.

If you took all the time you spent setting up that website, creating those 3 unusable, untextured, average quality models, posting this thread before you were ready / the other 5 threads you posted, and replying to everyone's critique's with anger, and spent it actually modeling a single, high-quality gun model, uv mapped and textured, you could have had something worth at least a little money. Maybe.

Right now you need to face the fact that the models are either way too high poly, and untextured, to be used in a game, or they don't look very good when they aren't too high poly, and are still untextured. An unsellable product.

So get a paper route job, and practice modeling and uv mapping in your spare time a little more. If you did create those models you're on the right track, you just need to work on your polygon usage, and figure out how to UV map and texture.

mitsieee - You have to understand that the freelance 3D Market is very, very competitive. Creating a thread with claims that you are a valid resource to a customer looking for professional quality work requires a bit more work than you've put into things. Keep in mind, your target customers are also targeted by hundreds, if not thousands of experienced professionals who have been creating assets for the better part of their life. Given, your prices are vastly cheaper than you'd see elsewhere, but still; there is a price. The models that you have for sale could easily be downloaded for free off one of the multiple 3D Hubs on the web.

Another thing to keep in mind is your presentation. You've clearly used a pre-made template for your website and slapped some default verdana (maybe?) face text over it. Remember, your website is a personification of you to the person! You want your website to be as clean cut and professional as you'd be if you were presenting to a client in real life.

As far as your portfolio is concerned, you need to take some time before you start to sell anything, as I've already gone over before. Things to keep in mind your next time around have mostly already been posted, but just keep in mind poly count, intelligent use of geometry and texture resolution, and competitive quality as compared to similarly priced entities.

As for presentation of your product, perhaps you should delve into the realm of turntables, or at least multiple high-resolution renders, along with watermarked JPGs of any and all textures that you've included with the model. Vector renders are always nice as well just to show that each polygon has been used intelligently, so the client knows that the model that they are buying wont be a burden to their game's engine. A simple polycount just isn't enough! Proper grammar and punctuation should be obvious at this point, taking the time to spell check before posting anything with commercial interest is a must. You don't get a second first impression! Clients that are willing to spend money on a 3D model are going to be shopping around, so you need to be able to convince them that your product is that much better than everyone else! One major rule to remember here: Your portfolio is only as strong as your weakest asset.

If you're curious on good ways to present your work, check out my presentation for my final project here- a very, very simple (and image intensive) HTML framework that I threw together to present my work to my peers. I'm not saying that this is the only way, or even that it is the right way, I'm just giving you suggestions as to how you can give as much information about your product as possible to your potential clients.

You've got a strong start here, don't give up! Keep working hard, and try to take critiques and suggestions as just that. Don't get defensive and offer information such as your age or experience as some way to decrease the amount of criticism you're receiving. Remember that you're the one that is putting yourself on the line here, to an open community full of other artists. You'd be foolish not to expect other artists to give you their input on what you have to offer!

Keep working hard, that's the only way to get ahead in this field.
