Confusing Title i know but how would i go about making a new screen while running my program (CIA MAINFRAME:-In Code snippets, not finished yet)

anything's possible but this sounds pretty difficult . i'd use textured plains against the camera, but letting the user input into them could be difficult.

i think you need to state your questions a bit clearer.
By a new screen, do you mean a fake windows interface?
How detailed are you planning on making it? multiple windows? resizing windows?

it might be easier to make a dos/linux prompt, like in enter the matrix, especially if the game is about hacking.

when you ask questions, just remember that whoever is trying to answer them knows absolutely nothing about what you're trying to do.

I see
what i mean is.
when you run/execute the db source code it opens in a window.
but i want to make a new window in the current window
eg. when you press "ctrl+n" in Internet Explorer a new window is made
do you understand?

no, you cant have 2 DB progs running at the same time, because they try to use the same DirectX handles for display, input, etc.
