Did you just slap the texture like that or you applied a planar UVW map before?

BTW:If you're to use a terrain made in an external program, optimise it to the max...Like those flat surfaces,it could be only two triangles and it wouldn't change a thing.

If I've seen it all before, why's this bus taking me back again? @_@

The old converter shipped with dBC worked great for doing that, exported from any software to .3ds and open it in the conv.

Looks like it's missing UV and normal data to me - have you tried it in a model viewer, or even loading it back into max?

i tried texturing it in dbp, and it did not work, i am not so sure it is dpb i personally think the .x format is crap and so are the exporters.

i have tried viewing in deep exploration but it shows no textures for some reason and i can't load back into max cos i can not find an importer anywhere on the net.

i'm gonna go mad soon

I only ever use .3DS when dealing with Max, then convert with 3DExploration or 3DConv.exe. Of course there's always trouble with limb positions and offsets when converting, but it's a bit rough when a mesh has problems too.

Perhaps the problem is the texture filename is different - you could grab TexConvPlus from the RGT useful tools forum, it lets you check and specify the texture filenames in .X files.

If you plan on changing from mad to happy, just remember that you're standing on plan....No wait that's not what I meant Just remember to save the .max file in future use/reference.It can always be useful if you have unit scale problems to go back in the modeler and fix it.

never really used max, but is that a procedural texture? Or is a real pic of grass?
