...don't post any of those copyrighted images here, voltlight.

Quote: "Wow quick reply. Thanks a ton and it's legal to do it, I'm not adding it to a commercial game or anything. "

To do so will violate the AUP, and probably get you a lengthy vacation, from these boards.

If you want to provide a generic model, and a blank UV Map, that's fine. If someone wants to add a series of copyrighted images, that's their choice.

Your stuff is good, as are your intentions. It would be terrible if you received moderation over something that was 100% preventable...

There seems to be a slight shader error in FPSC, basically one half of the box will be black unless it's facing the light. It may just be my settings though (I've got ambedient really low).

Ok, I shall email. Kind of disappointed with this though... Can I still upload the game cases with the UV of the outside of the box, but no cover art?

Yeah you can, they still look good though. BTW I have FPSC X10 so maybe they will work in that better.

...sure. That's just a generic box, and there's no problem with that.

The issue exists regarding EA Sports' protected property...

There is an extremely fine line between being heralded as a philanthropist and a pirate, on these boards.
There is absolutely zero tolerance of any actions that breeches copyright protocols.

Using these boards, even offsite or via email, to conduct illegal or unethical practices, will gain attention,
and a notorioty that you may regret in the future.

Welcome to the FPSC forum, gentlemen. I very strongly urge you both to closely read the AUP Rules.
The moderators enforce them very effectively. Many have flaunted those rules, and they were sent packing in very short order.

Good luck to you, in all of your future endeavors...

Don't you have to compile models for x10 differently...?

Ok, Seth, there is no EA Sports logo, that should come with the cover art or whatever.

I sent the email.

If you guys find anything illegal in this file, please alert me ASAP, I deleted all the cover art, but I may have missed something.

Maybe I'm missing something, BUT all I did was ask him to attach an image to a 3D model. I wasn't going to use it in a game or anything like that so I don't see anything wrong with it. He wasn't taking credit for the box art either so I don't see how that's a problem

I understand the rules, BUT I don't see a problem with him simply pasting a texture on a 3D model he made. I also don't see how that is piracy. The box art is free for anyone who wants to download it and I think EA even had it on their site for a while.

He also didn't mess with the IP rights of EA since all he did was take their texture and paste it to a 3D model. If it's not sold I think he did nothing wrong.

I don't want to come across as a rebel because I'm not, all I want to do is find out what you're saying that we are doing wrong. Their are tons of people who are on these forums and you are the only one who says this is a problem so it makes me wonder if you are making a mistake.

voltlight, they do work in X10 and I don't have the shader issue so it is amazing. You're work is amazing and you deserve a very big thanks.

...been here awhile. Most others have come and gone, from the early days.

The AUP is crystal clear. I didn't write it. It has been enforced many times.

Right. Wrong. I'm not the morality police. I am stating very real facts, to two new members, who were flirting with a blatant mistake.

I assure you, that there are others on these boards who would state the obvious, if they were monitoring this post.

Good luck to you, in your future endeavors...

Just a note to you voltlight and to any other modellers out there. When testing your model for frame rate in FPSC, having a small room with just your model in won't reflect the true frame rate. Of course you're going to get excellent frame rate with one or two models and a small room. Your best be would be to create a 'test map' including many rooms, enemies, scenery and other things. This way you'll get a better perspective for frame rate when using the model in a 'real world' situation. Just a heads up voltlight.

Nice grappling hook by the way.

A scud launcher is a missile launcher.
Someone put up a picture on the first page, could you do two variations one with the launcher in firing position and one in transportation position?

I see, so just the actual launcher, and not the full truck?

Ok, thanks for the advice Nickydude, but to be honest, FPSC doesn't get the best frame rates anyway.

Now, I may take a 1 hour gaming session today, in between making props, but I promise I will get at least one more done today.

Hey Voltlight, I like what your doing here, i was wondering if i could give you a hand with some of these Model requests, I need to practice with more model making so this is a good place for just that, I only make models for Darkbasic though, so if anything is needed for FPSC i wont be able to do myself but maybe someone else on the forum could, Voltlight you dont seem to have any way of communicating with you, so could you Message me an email addy?,

The last few models i made was this Futuristic Jet, Hopefully later will make a Model pack to sell, but for now i just want to practice more.

and this Medi-Kit box.

Of course you can help! The more the better! If it's possible for you to send me a .3ds or something compatible with Max (unless you are actually using max) then do so.

Xfire: voltlight

email: voltlight@hotmail.co.uk

Don't bother adding me to MSN anything, I do not have, I do not want.

Just send me the models and textures in a .zip, and I will export them as .x's compatible with FPSC.

Hey sekoidiootti, i started working on a model for your trash pile, just 1 question Is it going to be similar scale to the picture? (next to the man)as in is it for walking on? or just for decoration.

I will do 2 different types, one that will be Lower quality, less debris, less polygons, and a higher one with alot of debris, more polygons, and you can use both decide which is best for you.

Would you consider releasing that jet, because it looks pretty awesome!

@coffeeGrunt

I will be releasing it soon,*As soon as my Game creator store is set up* The jet pictured on this forum is running on Darkbasicpro using a simple texture and a sphere mapping, I would recommend it for Darkbasic pro, it has animations, sounds and Effects. I am not too sure about FPSC yet, I dont have it rigged up to do anything in FPSC other than using it as a Prop. Thanks for the interest. You can check a video of it here,
http://www.evilpigeon.co.uk/shipmovie.wmv

Or download an actual working EXE from darkbasic to see how well it runs on your PC.*with working mini-guns!!*Zipped with a rar file*
