look a tad pants with the one image - can you use cube mapping to get more detail in there on a sphere? does that slow things down a bit too much with six 256x256 or 128x128 images>? is there a better way to get a beautiful hi(ish) res skysphere or starscape? anyone got any examples? ta,

So you want something space like huh? OK.

This should produce a sphere with a sharp space-like texture. Replace the stars.bmp with your own texture.

Hope this helps (and works...)
Any probs give me a bell. (When will private messaging appear??)

Try this and strip the bits out you don't need.

@ Spooky & DarkSith,

Thanks both. As it happens have tried both sorts of approaches already - problem is the 256x256 texture size limitation... maybe it's me but the starspheres my system knocks out are, frankly, a bit pants... can i use that cube mapping thingy to up the resolution>>>???

I use 2048x2048 textures in DBC...

If I've seen it all before,why's this bus taking me back again? @_@

@actarus,

the question is, which of the two approaches is best in DBPro and is there a better approach.... what about creating several sky spheres in the same location each placing the salient bit of the texture in a different place - is that possible, would it up the res?

UnderLord,

Why don't you have a screen shot for your games?
