Hey Guys!

Now that the deadline for the 3DMaster Competition is coming up, I'll leave this here to submit your entries.

The Deadline for submission is 1st June 11:59pm GMT.

On another note, I think the final judging will be done by myself and MikeS (And perhaps some of the other Mods), just to quicken things up.

This is "El ratoncito perez"

Okay I'm entering mine as model-only simply because of time constraints and school so here are some construction shots.
Basically my idea was to remake Medusa with some more interesting twists to her (Or him in this case; yes I decided to give Medusa a sex change, what about it? ) . I'm certainly happy with how this turned out and I'll still work on this for sure; I want this babe done!

Okay, here's my entry. I did a texture but it was very rushed and ended up looking horrible, so I'll submit just the mesh.

I bring you Wall-E's alter ego, the mercenary terror RUST-E. Wielding a gatling gun and compact rocket launcher, he'll blow that trash to dust, or anything else he feels like taking out . His hover jets allow him to move at great speed and ram those spikes into pesky opponents.

Thanks for the entries guys! Some very nice work here.

We love them all! So choosing will be very hard indeed.

I am pleased to announce that the votes have been cast and the winners have been picked!

As I said before this was a very difficult decision for us, as you have all produced fantastic models!


So... The overall winner of the first 3D Master competition is... Neodelito

We really liked your entry Neodelito. Not only have you demonstrated a good knowledge of low polygon modeling, but the texturing prowess to follow it up! You are now crowned "3D Master - Champion"



For the winner of the best model, the decision was hard indeed.
But, Considering no evil Disney character is complete without Rockets and spikes, we award BMacZero the Best Model Award!



For the final award for the competition, we again stumble into the world of Disney, with the award going to the creator of another evil Wall E. Not only did we like the colouring job, but we loved the little trash de-compactor animation! Very nice touch to your concept. We award blobby 101 the Best Texture Award!



Well done to Neodelito, BMacZero and blobby 101 and thank you all for participating in this competition!

Congratulations winners

I would like to see a spacecraft modelling comp, making something akin to EVE online ships, be it a large battlecruiser or a small fighter.



Maybe someone could provide a default space background for use aswell.

I was following the entry for Neodelito on another forum (anim8or.com)... I came over here to look at the other entries... I see you have a space-ship design competition, and I just started modeling a ship.


I have just started the current ship design in the last 2 days and would really like to join the competition.

Can I enter the contest? what are the rules, software requirements, etc?

I'll show the rough work of what I have made to date...

Arik, the organisers BiggAdd et al are just looking for next competition ideas at the moment. Nice model btw

Glad others would like to see spacecraft comp; I don't have the best artistic eye in the world, so geometrical/mathematical type modelling is much more up my street

And nice bg Lazerus, lots of space for shiny metallic goodness.

The only problem with a space ship comp is that there was already one a few months ago. So I say no go on the space ship comp.

I'd say a competition that deals something along the lines of game level design or building would be kul. Say a specific function of a level, or a part of a level itself.

Maybe a tower design, could be a Half Life City 17 style futuristic affair, or a Lord of the Rings style Dark Tower of Sauron, or anything like that.

On topic:
I think maybe if it was really specific, like say make the ultimate trap for a side scrolling game. Or make the impossible obstacle. Or take your favorite platformer of all time and recreate a part of a level in your own way. Or find a random screenshot and recreate part of it. Or turn a pixelated platform and turn it into 3d.

Just some ideas.

hmmm... i think a environment comp should be done. (nothing to extreme) like a small island or village(hint hint) or possibly just a vegetation one.(environment would be cooler though)

Congrats to the winners.
I was thinking about an environment competition, maybe just having a single room or an alley and having to fill it with all the types of things you would see in this environment, anything from a clean office to a grungy warehouse, could be fun to see what people come up with.


I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

wakes up completly bandaged up, eyes sown closed, but i can still see. Everyting has a fire red tinge, as my heart slowly starts to beat again,

Slowly i, lazerus gain my ground and follow the tracks left by josh, ignorant and oblivious to the terror that waits him...

Soon after I track down josh at a small wood clearing, the air is still, the forest, quite, the silence is all josh needed to know something was wrong, he reaches for his sword, but its missing,
looking for something? a voice echoed from the woods, a cold chill prickels down joshs back as he knows his fate is decided.
A flash of silver is all that he sees and will ever see again...

I thought the name would be the hint...

I should have the next competition up by tonight or early tomorrow. It'll be something I'm pretty sure we haven't done. Thanks for the ideas though, I am making notes for future competitions.

Dang, when someone mentioned environment I got my hopes up. My school is getting the program vue later this month that would have been killer!

(I highly suggest giving vue a google. Amazing stuff it is...)

Regarding an environment project, i don't think the use of Vue should be allowed, its way too easy to press a few buttons and make a rich, tree filled island and really takes little effort to do anything.
