Do you think it is a good tutorial for a newcomer with absolutley no knowledge of dark basic.(I am beyond that level)

I think that someone should look over the built in tutorials and commands because that does use some things that might SEEM advanced to a new comer, for instance, when i first got dbc i used and started copying code from it ( bad idea lol) and that really messed me up because i din't really understand how to do it i just copied code. lol

I did the same thing Caleb! And it screwed me over pretty badly in the end, too. I had absolutely no idea how I had made the player have gravity or collision, and I had to teach myself how to do that properly. Now I understand how to do that from scratch, but sometimes I do have to look at samples again in case I forget something.

Ha i think a lot of people did the same thing, there was never anything that really outlined the fact that you shouldn't copy code lol

not me, im one of the few who saw the danger in that, I learned most of my coding simply by running through the command lists, picking one out and attempting to understand and use it

Umm... but still do you think it is a good tutorial for a newcomer who wouldn't just run through the code.

I never really cared for it. It relied mostly on DarkBASIC code, rather than actually explaining what to do and why it worked (outside the code that is). Then again, perhaps I was just missing a key file that explained every step.

I mean as far as explanations go. I never really got much from the tutorials.
