So basically its a FPSC/TGC based download search engine built into a application? I like the idea, new and innovative for sure.

Not really. It does search, but it doesn't search TGC. It's reading from a database of models that I've put together from TGC released stuff.

Yes it now works. The link to the GM Audio doesn't seem to work. Also, it might be an idea to have the main interfaced tabbed (see attached for example) so you're ready as your program grows (which I'm sure it will).

@Nickydude, thanks for the suggestion. I can do that fairly easily, actually.

@Cyclone, how're you liking it so far? The amount of stuff you can download isn't very big, but it's enough to show you what the program does...

This might take some time but might be worth considering, how a about adding a scripts tab?

Also make the "Other Places To Download" a built in web browser

I still have the same problem when I click cancel on a download. The window just keeps popping up over and over.

@hockeykid, Sure! If we can go through the scripts board just like we did the M&M board and add those to the database, we can surely use scripts in there.

@xplosys, Yeah... I don't know how to fix it. I'm even running a check to see if a window is already open and if it is, don't open another... But it's not opening simultaneously, so I don't know how to fix it.

I wish I could help you, but I only know VB. If you want to send me the cancel routine I might be able to spot the problem. I have C# and C++, but like I said, I never use them. I seems like it would have to be in the cancel code though.

I think I'm just going to work on the new version. It won't have this problem in it.

1) Which file are you running?
2) Do you have .NET framework 3.5 installed? If you don't know, download it from the link that I posted above, and it'll check for you and install it if you don't have it.

@Nickydude, Thanks! It's an honor to be up there with other great FPSC tools.

@rakker126, Thank you very much!

Interesting. Because the program does absolutely no setup at all. I'm not sure what to tell you. Are all of the files extracted before you run them?

Gunner, you really sould add a Donate button in the app, like next to the "About" tab, Donate, that would make it easier to donate

Possibly. I only have 32-bit, so I can't guarantee the success of it working on 64-bit.

@teamhalo, Okay. I'll go add that now and release a new version with that in.

EDIT: NEW VERSION RELEASED

FPSC Developer Content Browser 2.0 is a complete departure from the previous incarnations of the FPSC Developer Content Browser. Built on GameXS technology, the FPSCDCB is scaleable to support many kinds of media, and introduces some key new features:

• The View Details Window
The new view details window allows users to get information and screenshots of an item at the touch of a button. No longer is there the need to copy and paste image links into a web browser to see an image. Available images (not hosted at the TGC Forum) are displayed right in the application!

• Media Database Automatic Updating
Previously, media in the database couldn’t be updated automatically, and any new media added to the database required the database to be redownloaded manually and placed into the FPSC Developer Content Browser’s folder, a tedious task. With the new version, the media is stored locally, but “synced” with the master database on MoltenByte Design’s website.

• User Added Media
With the 2.0 update, users can now add their own media through the web media panel. The media is synchronised with other FPSC Developer Content Browser users the next time they start the program.

• GameXS Technology at its Core
The 2.0 update introduces a radical redesign of the software, allowing fast migration to GameXS upon its release, and retains its media database during migration to GameXS.

The FPSC Developer Content Browser (v2.0)

About the update... I've been working on this for the past few days, and I'm really satisfied about how it's coming along, especially the UI.

One more thing: For any developers interested in doing anything with the media database, a SOAP service (in the C#/.NET style) is available at http://moltenbytedesign.com/FPSCDCBServices/MediaService.asmx. Currently there is only one method available for use, which gets all the media from the database, but in the future, there should be some more for adding media, etc.

The one in the first post is not the 2.0 update. The download in the first post is 1.2, which is not Vista x64 ready, unfortunately. I think that that's fixed in 2.0.

Those of you who helped add content to the first release of this:
We might be back in business soon. Zane is going to put up a page where we can add to the database before 2.0 is released. Once 2.0 is released, we can keep going at it, and continue to update the browser, but I thought I'd just share that little bit of info.

@Everyone else, as you might notice, we are now in the FPSC Chat area. The reason for the switch was fairly simple. This technically isn't a model, nor is it media. Also, the FPSC Chat area gets a bit more traffic, so I wanted to make sure everyone at least knew about this.

Unfortunate news: Due to lack of funding, I am unable to maintain the site at MoltenByteDesign.com. What this means for you is, v2.0 won't come out unless MBD is up. It's not a simple webspace problem. If that was the case, I'd just host the file at FileFront or some equivalent. I need the database room and functionality that my old account had, and since I cannot pay for it, it will not be up. There is a way you can help though. If you can donate any amount of money, I can get the account back up and running and we can get back to finishing up V2.0 (it's almost done!)

Many free hosts have limits on what you can use that arnt always seen so easily, such as for example limits to how large databases can be or the connection speeds can be very bad.

Most free hosts have size and bandwitdh limits and don't support ASP.NET or large SQL databases.

@The Next - I've received your email. It's a very generous offer. I forwarded it along to our lead programmer to see if it meets his criteria for his programs. I'll let you know if we are able to switch over as soon as I discuss it with him.

Ah. Zymic... I think I actually introduced these forums to Zymic a while ago. The original Gunn3r Games site was run on a Zymic server. They are pretty awesome. But they don't support ASP.NET, which all of our pages are designed in. And without ASP.NET, we can't run the DCB.

You can run ASP.net on Apache with mod_mono. I don't know if your host has it installed, probably not but you can ask.

Good news! I got a job (finally), so I'll be able to host my website again. Molten Byte Design will be back up and running soon, and we'll continue to finish up working on this project. We don't have too much left to finish up and then we'll release DCB 2.0.
