my brother is modelling me some stuff, but i have a couple questions...1)how do you texture things in milkshape? and 2)when you go to export things in .x, there are a lot of options...could anyone some it up for me please? thanx in advance

as far as exporting X format, select EXPORT and when the long list opens select "DIRECT X 8.0..." then supply info into pop up window (basically path/file info) and then OK

It will make your ms3d file into a DOT-X file to use in DBP

worked for me but I make no claims on "only way to go" as I have learned there are usually 5 diffent ways to do something

they dont tell you about exporting but they'll tell you how to texture stuff.

thanx for the responces, but i have one more question...when i do export, it won't let me animate the model...is this because i have DBC?

bishop, i think CattleRustler is talking about DBPro. for DBC go to export->DirectX(JT)... hope this helps

The JT option doesn't work with DBC for me either. I just get a Severe Exception error on the Load Object line.

At least the other DX8 export option allowed you to load your model - even if it doesn't let you animate it.

I switched from TS to Milkshape as I was led to believe it was better for making animated models to be used in DB.

Having spent a good while learning to use it and creating a nice animated model, I find it can't be loaded into DB.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction so I won't have wasted all my time.
