Yeah, the lanterns will be in the pack, along with the light decals for them, and an illumination map. I wanted to make my own fixtures for the swamp rather than using the stock WW2 lanterns.

I'm trying to finish at least two models per day for the pack. My goal is to have the pack finished and ready for sale by August.

it would be really cool if you made a swampy water decal just a suggestion please, if not I'll just modify the water decal texture

If you get X10, you will get water too. A decal would be a bit too
much on the framerate in extent use...

Looks indeed amazing. The last screens (with yellowish lights) give me a feel of Pirates of the Caribian, Deaths man Chest, at the beginning of the movie. REALLY COOL.

Am I right in thinking the glow around the lanterns in the last 3 pictures are not from FPSC?

I just thought of something. If the light decal can be seen from a 360 range, then that means that the decal would only be good from a certain angle. If the decals angle always changes to face the player, then it'll clip through the lamp, right? Take a look below.

The green dot is the player, the red dot is the lamp and the blue line is the decal. As you can see, the players line of sight would change the decals rotation.

Does this happen or am I wrong?

@ Lewis, I've never experimented with decals as of yet, but I see what you're saying. If I had to take a guess, I would ask if it was possible to offset the origin of a decal (or plane), so the 0,0,0 coordinates would fall in the center of the lantern, but the actual decal's placement would be on the outside of the light.

@Nickydude, you are correct. The lighting in the screenshots were enhanced for presentation (I probably should have pointed this out when posting them in the first place, sorry). Once I finish the decals for the lights, I'll be sure to distinguish the differences

It would be good if lee implemented a system that allows objects to orbit another object. This would come really useful for decals.

These models all look beautiful man, very good and perfect for any swampy horror scene; they could even be used, if done so correctly, in some sort of run-down, filthy city. I can't wait to buy them and see what wonderful environments I can design.

The breakable components sound awesome, they could definitely be used for some puzzle elements, and if you do choose to make some sort of water decal, even if it's simply a large, murky puddle of grim mire - it would be wicked.

Another suggestion for the pack might be a few entities that could go along with the swamp; by which I mean, perhaps old rotting cars, building ruins or other things of the sort, to give the sort of feeling as if the swamp as gone and swallowed a small village or town that was once built upon it. And with the foliage you planned, some of them could be possibly designed to wrap close up and around the village entities to show the swamp almost taking back the land, knitting itself back together around whatever objects sit in its way.
Just a suggestion

Amazing work as always though, can't wait to see more; and can't wait for the packs completion!

-Cheers

@lewis: This is very possible. Take a look at the screen i attached.
And i use this very often. It is a good trick, to make light decals.

Ok so we have here a plane. But it isnt in the center of your modeling software. That is correct. Now if you exported and add uvmap/texture ofcourse, with a nice texture, and you say to alwyas rotatetoplayer, like:

and set it dynamic, and immobile to no. Then it will always rotate to you, and the light model itself will stay in the middle, but the plane will rotate around the model.

Ineditor:

For example in the editor, you would have like the light model.
Then you grab your "light plane" and click on the light model. So now your "light plane" will be next to the light model.

PS: Sorry for my crappy tutorial.

(this cant be used for decals) (you can do this for example for a light "Glow") (would look very cool ingame)

EDIT: Your texture has to be png, or DDS so it supports alpha channel, so you can see the actuall light model behind it.

Red Eye, thanks for the mini-tutorial. That's the method I was going to try using in the first place (As I mentioned to Lewis offsetting the origin of the plane). Glad to see it actually works

Many threads ago, he said he based it on that map, and also based it on the marsh level in Resident Evil 5.

This looks beautiful Kravenwolf, just what I needed for my outdoor levels, my birthday is in August so I'm sure to get it on way or the other. I'm planning to use up my birthday gifts all for FPSC stuff. You're right up top.

Looking great as usual Kravenwolf
I'm liking how these models could be put to good use in just about anything and not just a swamp

Depending on your pricing, i may definitely have to get these when you release them, or for the 20$ if they become a model pack as you were hoping

Keep sending us shots! Or better yet, release a test level so we can see them up close for ourselves

You need to set ambiance level to 0 in the build game options, then all lights are the only lights that will work
