If you don't have Vista, then buy regular FPSC, if you have Vista (along with good hardware), then buy X10. Also if you like bloom to the max, then buy X10.
Done.

ps. This would fit in at the FPSC boards.

If you see a thread of mine in GDT, please don't expect it to go anywhere.

Depends on your specs....

Right now, X9 has much more support, especially with the mods and such, so I'd recommend that...

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.

No X10 costs $70.... you're looking at the price in pounds...

If you download FPSC Free, the build game upgrade only costs $20...

What's the difference between the Build Game Upgrade and the full original FPSC?

The $50 full version comes on a cd and has more stock media. So if you want to create your own media, I think upgrading FPSC Free is the better option.

In my opinion do neither they're limited when it comes to gameplay and I don't like it when game engines are limited. Same rule applies to 3d gamemaker. Plus if you really want to be scared the crap out of then wait till it's night turning up the volume on your computer while trying out the new DarkVoices...

Why not settle on the lesser of...3 evils? Go with Linux.

Anyway.

I would recommend regular FPS Creator simply due to the fact that:

1. It has more support and people who use / understand it.

2. It has more mods.

3. It's more bug-free as it's been worked on continuously, while X10 is still the way it was when it came out.

4. X10 is only aimed for Vista. Will not run on XP (which most still use).

5. X10 requires a high end gaming PC. Most standard people have standard PC's.

Temporarly away from the Phoenix Sentry.

Yeah Crispex is about right. Most people don't have a high end computer(me). What I like more about Fps Creator now is that its open source so I can add or delete as many features as a I want which is cool.

I don't have a high end gaming PC either. I have a standard multi-purpose desktop PC with 1.25 gig of RAM, Pentium IV 2.9 GhZ processor, and an Nvidia GeForce 6200 OC (Overclocked) with 256mb of VRAM and Shader Model 3.0.

Pretty basic, it gets the job done, I can play my favorite games, and use normal FPS Creator, so I'm not bothered.

It does. Im pretty sure X10 has MORE stock media... If your talking about the media the community has then... it can still be converted to work with X10 but thats a lot of work.

This is a thread about X9 or X10, not about operating systems (and yes, I realise you were 'just saying' but please, no more).

No where near true. If you had x10, you would know the difference between straight out of the box, and v1.09. Plus, TGC is working on v1.10 right now, and have stated that they plan to get x10 to a decent level before they even start work on the Migration. X10 is also supposed to get several exclusive features from the migration, so I've heard. So, X10 has a more support for the future. X9, has all the mods, which are great for performance and scripting (ironsights too) providing a much different experience.

Also, cripex, X10 has plenty of people who understand nearly every quirk of X10 if you'll simply click the bar in my signature.

Either choice you make, they're both quality products of which you'll have many hours of fun creating with.

Well as I've said before if you have the spec then you should get FPSC X10. It doesn't have mods but its the more powerful engine and will get all of the features available in v115 in the migration whereas X9 will only get some of the X10 features.

To be honest if X9 gets Dark AI, water, bloom and normal / specular mapping for segments out of the migration I'll probably put my copy of X10 out to pasture but I don't think the X9 engine will be able to handle full scene normal and specular mapping like X10.

X9 is a great engine and shader model 3 is way more accessible to work with using Dark Shader then X10 and shader model 4 which throws you in the deep end with no support.

I'm disappointed shader model 3 cant be used in the X10 engine as I was just starting to get my head around it then I open up an X10 shader and had a good laugh to myself.

Wizmod has water. It cannot be used to build game though. That's something else to keep in mind, to build a game with a mod it'll cost more money for most mods.

@JiMmY: Yes, x9 is called x9 because it uses Direct x 9. Same for x 10 with x 10.

If you know DB (is it Pro or not?) then why did you ask about FPSC x9 or x10? I can understand using x9 since you can use the levels in DBPro, but you can't with x10.

The Xbox 360 is pretty much just for playing games. You CAN do other stuff with it like watch movies but its really not meant for that. If you are looking for an all around device then I would choose the iphone. If you are looking for gaming then I would choose an Xbox 360. One thing I can say though is that you will probably want a newer iphone when it comes out. So you will have to keep spending money. :p

On the other hand though you have to keep buying games for the Xbox 360. Its up to you. Its your money... and your choice.

X10 can have water and the water is better because you can swim in it. Oh and it has MUCH better performance. If you have the requirements. In X9, you need at least 4 Gb ram because it sucks and goes SSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow. And you need a 9500 GT 512 for kind of smooth performance.

I want a new computer!
