hello,

Just starting to get myself deeper into Ply's Camera commands, but they are quite confusing to me, and I wanted to ask...

I have Ply script for the Humvee. The camera can of course move around the entire entity, and even flip upside down. Can I put some Blocks in to keep the player from doing so? Because I would like to keep the Y axis open for movement, but it just needs some restraint.

Thanks.

The script is for Project Blue mod, and the Humvee Must be a character with the script applied.

Ply's driving script is outdated since v1.07 as I recall and it doesn't work properly and I remember ply saying so himself..

anyway I have started my own driving scripts and I ended up doing 3 types of driving..

- The first is much like Need For Speed, u have no control over the camera and it moves right behind the vehicle..

- The second is similar to that of GTA, the vehicle moves with ASDW keys and you can rotate the camera around the vehicle freely (camera movement doesn't affect vehicle direction at all)

- The third is a new version of the script above.. you only move front and back and the vehicle tilts towards the camera direction.. though am having trouble with this one the vehicle MUST rotate 180 degrees and walks with its back but I think it's sth a cup of coffe would solve..

what u probably need is the second script with one modification (decreasing the rotation angle around the vehicle from 360 to a 180 for example).. am I right?

am gonna use'em for my game so I won't post the actual script srry but I'd be happy to tell u the idea for each..

The script works great, i love it, it just needs to NOT flip upside down when you move the camera up a bunch...

Any help with this?

Or is this simply not possible?

Sorry for seeming impatient.

nthn is impossible.. but I don't quit get wut u want, do u wanna limit the camera movements or u wanna cancel the movement on the Y axis?

either way here's wut u'll be altering

if u wanna remove it completely just remove (cameraangy=HumveeCam %TempY) from the last line.. if u wanna limit it u'd have to subtract any value from %TempY if it's more than desired..

What i am trying to do is...

Right now, when I drive the humvee, I can move my mouse up so far that I rotate upside down, and see the humvee upside down.

In Halo, when you try to move the camera up, you can move it up to the top, but you cant move it so much that the camera will flip upside down.

EDIT: See how the player can move the camera on the Y axis to this point, but no higher.

now I get it..

the easy solution is to remove rotation around x-axis completely and assign a 25-35 degrees tilting at the begining

that way u won't have control around the x-axis at all (but the y-axis would still working for the vehicle movement..

the tricky way is to limit it for say 90 degrees

u might wanna replace the 0-90 to 90-180 or 180-270 I haven't had a chance to test where the start is.. that's the tricky part.. hope it works..

EDIT: to make it more realistic I guess tilting should be around 45 degrees caus a 90 degree is right on top of the vehicle so u'd be looking directly at its top.. so maybe start at 15 ending at a 60 degrees..
