Within my entities that came with my FPSC x10, I saw an effect: "Particle Steam" (it had the little x10 icon over its icon to denote that it was x10 exclusive). Well, when I position it in a level and test the level, I don't see steam. When I press tab during testing, I don't see an option to change the steam, either.

Right clicking it in FPSC x10 did nothing, i.e. there were no properties defining colour, intensity, etc.

How do I change settings for it?

You can't change the steam unfortunately (you could try modifying the .fpi, I haven't tried this since I don't use the steam). It is there, it just isn't that apparent.

Well, how do I even make it appear in my game?

It's in the list of decals, there has to be a way.

There has to be a way to make it appear to begin with, though. I place it in the map and I don't see any steam whatsoever.

Assuming that's not the normal behaviour.

What update do you have? Particles worked awfully in v1.08, but work fine now in v1.09.

That's what I was going to say. Before 1.09, if you use more than one of the x10 exclusive ones the rest appear invisible

Sorry about that previous double post. Firefox acted up on me and I ended up not seeing the first message.

I patched it to the latest versions from the download link in my order history. I installed the update patch, then the ragdoll patch--should I have done it the other way around?

In x10 click on the help bar, then click on check for updates. if you haven't done this update, then install it.

I used the built-in updater to update to the latest version. I tried to test my level, and immediately as the tester appeared, this is what I saw (the top error message, followed by the bottom):

Any ideas as to what's going on?

First, you'll need to download the mature patch, then update your copy of x10. Since you have the mature patch, you can try just updating it.

No one has a clue?
Thats because TGC don't support X10
I'ts secondary to there needs(sell more product)
I've caned X10 bucause of this.(Zero Support)
It won't work because X10 DOESN;T WORK.
Bad luck for us X10 users.
Stick to X9 not perfect but works better than X10

X10 is a sad deal if I knew how poor the support was going to be I'd have never have bought.

X10 SUCKS

Hopefully they take the survey seriously, and people voiced their opinions about X10 (I know that I did).

@TMS: You need to upgrade to the latest version of direct x10, direct 10.1 that is, I think. Sorry I didn't say that already. After you download the latest version of x10, redownload the update.

Sadly I totally agree, I wish I had perused the forum a lot more before I puchased X10, back in June. If I knew then what I know now from forums, and bad experience with X10, I wish I had have went with X9.

I get more support from my wifes bra, than I ever did for X10, LOL.

Smarter than the average bear.

It will be interesting to see what results from the survey. Personally, I used it to voice a lot of my opinions...

I voiced my opinions in the survey, so hopefully this will be a wakeup call to TGC.
