Welcome to this thread , I will explain all the differences with x10 , including all the graphical changes.

Graphical changes with X10


You will notice loads of new changes to the graphics , here is a list :

1) New shaders
Walls can now reflect the light sources , you now get lighting effects on your weapons aswell

1.1) Relief mapping
This is a new shader that doesnt seem to work on static entities or segments , I think this is a fix for dynamic lighting

2) New GUI
You will see a new GUI such as huds , a nice menu for changing graphical effects and so on ...

3) Realistic water shaders
You dont get realtime 3d water but you do get a real-time water effect , you dont get any refraction under water just like you do in reality (No wobbling effects underwater)

4) Soft shadows
You now have soft stencil shadows , The projection on segments and entities has been removed when it was finally released though

Test mode menu options


In the new menu you can now control your games effects with this menu , you can also control them with scripts :

Skybox changing ingame
Ambiance Control Meter
Fog Color (Out and in water adjustable)
Fog Range (Out and in water adjustable)
Bloom (Out and in water adjustable)
Bloom size (Out and in water adjustable)
Water height
Water smoothness
Water speed
Water Fresnel
Water color
Shadow strength
Shadow amount
Underwater Color
Window refraction (Refraction texture can be changed in the map editor)
5 Different sound source volume controllers

Other cool stuff


Ragdoll (Only with Mature patches )
New segments
2 new markers
New entities and 1 new weapon
Faster Light map building
GPU instancing
Texture arrays (Change textures of anything to do with stock media)
And mabe some others things I missed.
You can now have your AI as a friend , Enemy or a neutral
> Neutral doesn't do anything , just wonders around unless you remove all there actions and assign them to a waypoint. Friends and enemies cant be don't for some very very odd reson

Models compatibility


Stock media
All of models packs (With 1.09 patch)
Everything else (You may have to tweak these though)

Crashes


You dont normally get crashes anymore unless its a model thats now x10 compatible and needs tweaking or mabe just cause your pc cant handle your map. It sometimes crashes when saving and optimising universe so always save your project before testing

Not so good things


Enemy and Friends cant be assigned to a waypoint

You will lag more if your motherboard isnt a dualcore or quadcore

Nothing else to add to that

I would also mention the support for relief mapping, which is graphically superior to regular normal mapping. However, these shaders don't work on segments, or static entities. I also plan on releasing a mini-guide on how to fix Errant Ai's weapons from the store.

As far as I know , only darkshaders work on these 2 items

lol, I am nearly 21 years of age and I only have the teen update. I did not even know that existed. How can I download the mature update, or do I have to show proof of age and if so where?
