Finally!...
Some months passed without any new words on Canalyst, but now we're finally back from the, endless, depths of Moscow's underground.
From yesteryday night, till this early morning, people celebrated Halloween, and as Horror-developers we do that as well, although a little differently than most other people.
TheK's been busy, working on another Canalyst wallpaper, just in time for Halloween, and even created variations in resultions up to 1920x1200 (he's not one of those folks, that do things halfheartedly, as you can tell).
This time, our beloved Monsters gather in a creepy forest at nighttime and tell each other scary stories, that is, until they notice those deep red, glowing eyes behind one of them. Have fun with that! (Clicking the picture brings up another site, that allows to choose from the available resolutions.)
However, don't jump to the conclusion that we haven't done any actual work on the game, because we have another news, that
easily surpasses the wallpaper!
The last trailer already announced it, but now, after a long, long, time it's finally here: The new
Canalyst Demo!
This chapter in Canalyst's development was awfully strung-out and, often, pain in our rears, but now that it's over, we can't help but smile and be proud of the work that flowed into the reorientation of the game, more precisely, the introduction into the game.
We decided to change the background story, added new levels, while others were dropped - with the goal to tell the story within the game, and more detailed as before.
This demo will capture you into the very first two levels of the game, that go into detail, on how Sergey ended up at the canalisation, and what happened twenty years afterwards.
For better immersion, the voice acting is purely russian (but comes with english, and later also german, subtitles), multiple cutscenes are included and even an elaborate, interactive tutorial that teaches the player the game mechanics.
In addition to the Demo, we also thought it'd be nice, to catch up on the release of screenshots, and present two new ones.
This time, in a resolution of 2940x1838 pixel, to make sure, that no detail is left undiscovered.
Well, only one thing is missing, and probably the most important part, so, here's the download link to the new Demo:

Note: Before jumping straight into the game, please take your time to adjust the settings via the Canalyst Launcher, since they're currently on "Low", which wouldn't be recommended, atmosphere-wise.
