Well i dont have any of those others, im only trying to run the demo of the Tree magik and Plantlife to see what theyre like. Do i need that other stuff for it? i thought these two programs were standalone.

Also, the TGC people say to update my drivers and also update direct x9, but i have direct x11, does that matter maybe?

Ok so i updated my drivers (theyre already up to date) and then went and download that zip and installed it and that worked, but i ran Treemagik and nothing happened.

Does it need physx? I have ATI, i can only assume that PhysX wont work. And nothing else seems to work.

PhysX will work regardless of GPU, if you do not have Nvidia, it resorts to using your cpu, however for the Demo's it is not deeded nor the full versions,

Are you using dual screens?

Im not using dual screens.

Just to be safe, here is my system's specs:

Windows 7 Professional
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 B55 Processor 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit OS
Graphics Cards: ATI Radeon HD 4800 series.

As i type this i realize that my cards are Xfired, so i will disable that and see if that helps at all.

wanted to keep this til last, but I found the demo editions of most apps were kind of dated and didnt work so well... but if you got 64bit windows, professional why not try installing xpmode and try running it in there?

Ok so dozens of updates later, i got XP mode running, installed treemagik, it ran and opened a window and then crashed!

It says "Unable to make 3d scene". Does that mean my xp mode needs its own direct x?

I can only guess at it being en-US, since im from America. Assuming of course that en-GB is English - Great Britain since you are from England.

without sounding funny, but im sure you know some applications go funny based on localisation... example chinese app running on english os, they cancel each other out sometimes, need someone within the UK to try installing the demo, I already have the full version and dont want to play funny with my install of full version, sorry , and getting it installed on another enUS based system might help you quench this theory

sorry if i sound a little not clear right now, im reading through lots of legal papers at the moment ^^ all these insurance stuff papers... if your gonna run a business, make sure you do it right! ^^ (hahahhah click the paranoid <<- that smiley on the comment box and see the syntax for it lol >.<

Hi, I have DGS & FPSC bundles (and additional plugins) running on windows 7 ultimate (64bit) and cant seem to get darklights to work! The exe (LightMapperIDE.exe). Following the tutorial, I press F3, change a few options (does not seem to matter which ones!) and then I am required to press [RETURN] to begin calculating ...

CRASH!

Now it seems to be a w7-64bit issue as it runs fine on my windows xp (SP3) system but crashes with same result on both my win 7 ultimate(64bit) systems!

I have all updates for direct x up to dx11 and (program, system, drivers, etc) and have disabled UAC and tried run as admin and xp compatability mode settings!

I have tried several fresh installs, and anything else I could think of at the time.

Both systems report back the following:

Problem signature:

Anyone have any advice please??, thanks for reading

EDIT: Actually, I have just noticed that in the "workng" xp system my DBO are NOT being saved to disk when I press F5 and exit the progam !!! So, not working on ANY of my systems atm! After "saving" the DBO file and selecting [Y] to quit the app also crashes!OR (randomly) when I press [F2] and clicking on the file i want to load my own file!

Strange enough the demo version works fine! apart from being able to save due to demo restrictions.

UPDATE:

I made some changes (listed below) and i seem to have fixed it! Truth is i dont know what i was doing or what one of my changes did fix the crash & no save issue! permissions/security i guess!

Heres what i remember trying..

Merge demo & full version files and recompile,
change LightmapperIDE.exe program properties as follows:

win98/me compatabillity mode
disable visual themes
disable desktop composition
run as admin

Most of which i had tried b4 with no luck, must have hit a lucky break with the combos!

Now, i gotta find out how to get the mapped scene back in my code! only seems to load textureless meshes atm, still, i am new to all this!

EDIT: Think im getting there, now if only Blender 2.58 would IMPORT .x aswell as export!!!! GGGGRRRRRRRR !

I forgot to mention the Desktop Compositions... but probably because it was probably on here already ^^ - ignore that bit

Blender is not a problem of these forums but I am sure you might get some help with it but good luck with it ^^

I am also adding here to this post a reference for zenassem please look up for my long thread post also note the desktop composition information as well as Vsual Themes, maybe I should add it to My post? - I am way too tired ignore this bit too

Let me know what you guys think...

And before someone says it... I am sorry for bumping this thread but it serves a purpose so it is worth bumping.
