can you lighten up the background a bit its really hard to see any detail with it that dark.

I somewhat have to agree with that, the rest of the texture sets a mood for you model, and that bright golden bullet just ruins that effect. If you were going to go with the bright bullet, I would have recommended going with a bright silver gun. (Though, the texture and models are still pretty good). =The best way to fix the bullet is to probably give it a more metalic look; add scratches and rust, or just darken the texture for the bullet until it fits the overall mood.

so now i have removed bullet=P unecessary to post image for it thoughXD now iam on to new models

In retrospect, your gun model is pretty good, but (in case you might have misunderstood me, I meant that the bullet texture looks to plain and bright, wheras few differences may make an improvements). Nice to know that GJ has FPSC readied your model, can't wait to see some screenies.

hmm, he is rigging it to mp6 hands, i was going to rig it to mp9-10 hands (the same as henry hams mp5sd)

while iam waiting for GJ to animate and such, i made a book only texturing practice this time, no modelling training. 52 tris, texture size is 512x512
iam pretty happy, any C&C would be nice^^

waiting for GJ to animate it but we have gotten it ingame^^imo it looked awesome mah first weapon ingame. what a kick.. anyway, making a more highpoly gun now, an AK-47, this time why iam making it highpoly is:
1: to improve my modelling skills
2: to improve my UV mapping skills (since high poly stuff is harder)
3: again, texturing practise.

will post pics of the glock ingame asap, also i will post pics of the ak-47^^

since noone is willing to comment on the ak i will post a new model (acually, just a new texture) Book of Spells (inspired from the book of spells in Fable). i used the same mesh as for book of doom. enjoy.
(i will try to get the books, barrel and the pickaxe//pickaxe will be an entity\\ into FPSC asap. i will let u know when.\\)

Edit: kan a MOD please change the name of this thread to quik's model thread

texture took about an hour. going to start UVmapping the AK-47 now... I DONT WANNA RUIN IT WITH MY BAD TEXTURING SKILLZ... but there is only one way to learn isnt it? =P

ugh, i dont want to UV map the AK-47.. but i have toXD well not now, becaouse right now i have made a skip, since i saw a pretty nice texturing tutorial at jon fletchers home page i got inspired to make something metallic, so i looked around the forums and stumbled across henrys thread and saw his old skip. so, i thought: why not?

here is a clay render + a wireframe, wire is a bit weird since it doesnt show some edges... i think it has some sort of hidden back edges or suchXD anyhow: you people stop dizzing this thread now! also, anything i should add?

update: i removed sight for now //back sight thing\\ since it just got messy, will redo it. also i have added stock to it. iam very happy so far=) 874polys so far.



also, iam still having problems with boolean, so if anyone have any tip to give or so, please PLEASE do, i have attached a picture of my settings.

since iam on a bit of a hold on the Mac10 i started on some hands, low poly, the hand is 450polys, and texture map will be 1024x1024px these are sort of my first gun hands so be nice will ya? iam very happy with them.
pic of the hands and the texture map. i also have a problem, the texture isnt "Seamless"... i will try fixing this.

update on the Mac10, i think iam pretty much donw now, any specific tips before i go on to text? any specific things i should add?
standing at a steady 1314 polys right now, iam happy with that polycount.

first off, i would really like it if the mods COULD CHANGE THE THREAD NAME TO QUIK'S MODELS AND TEXTURES, since it isnt the first time i ask, maybe i should e-mail one of em? oh well, however i bring news aswell, i know i have been kind of "dead" but thats because, well, i've been busy with other hobbies //gaming, friends, my child and such\\ but well, i thought it is about time to do something i might finish, and i really hope i finish this! it is a human, WiP atm, and i know that he misses hands, feet and his crotch and.. ass, is a bit weird, going to try fixing this tho! well here he is, iam also thinking of making him a pair of weapons and maybe some arsenal, like granade holders, holster for guns and, maybe an armour? we will see, first off i wanna finish the model and the helmet, if i can do that iam happy.

yes, iam aiming for low poly, and therefore, the helmet might be a bit highpoly =/ well getting fixed, also unless for the back being to flat and the crotch and bummy being weird, do u spot any other weird looking places?

also yes, if i manage to finish the model it will be released for free
