If I make an object in 3D Studios Max, with bumpmapping and lots of nice effects(I mean to the model, not the scene) can I export it out like that into DBpro either as a 3ds file or a x file or do I have to do all that stuff in DBpro.
I could try but Im tooooo damnnn lazzzy, plus I might be done something wrong if I try

I tried some of the tutorial models with bumping etc, tried to save them as both a 3ds file and a x file. No luck, I think a DBO exporter needs to become avaliable for MAX!!!!!!!

Hi , if you want you bumping effect to show in DBPro you should save your bump texture and apply it on you model with Bump shader in DBPro.

depends what your trying to attempt exactly ele...
bump/normal mapping can't be achieved realtime by most cards, atleast not within DBpro ... there is a plugin which allows you to export the Normal of an object though.

Assigning Texture Vertex Colours (Baking) is alright for your Per-Pixel Lighting but again this is a different effect to normal mapping.

why don't you show us a jpg of the rendered model with all its bells and whistles ... also a copy of what maps you using (and what material settings) and can go from there rather than playing the guessing game
