Hi,

I am looking to have bodies stay in my game after they die, and I want to have them bleed or shoot blood if the player shoots the corpses (just like they bleed when your fighting them).
I thought that if I set the collision to "on" when the NPC dies, it would work. But the body quickly disappears. I checked the main scripts like 'coward' and some of the other default attack scripts, but I'm not seeing what I think I should be seeing.
My question is, what function is the game using to make the NPC bleed when they are alive, and where can it be turned back on when they die? I think I just need a hint or a nudge in the right direction

To leave the corpse, set the Destroy script to leavecorpse.fpi. However, this would not allow blood to appear after death. It is possible to do if you set the character's health to 10,000, and say at 9,900 the character will run the death animation, so he will still be alive and blood will appear. This would be CPU intensive though. The question is - is it really worth it?

Not really, though I think it would be expected as some other games have that effect. I like your idea, and was thinking that the PC could shoot them a few times after death, before the body explodes or something... which would be cool as it would get rid of them and keep performance up. I love games that are bloody and keep bodies in the world after they die.
But thanks for the idea to have them feign death, I'm thinking I am going to make one or two of the NPCs look dead for a short period of time, and then get up and try to escape or get to some location and trigger some help.

As PW Productions said, it can be done in Horror Mod, you can even have the characters dripping blood or on fire as they walk around etc..

If you use the keepalive.fpi destroy script you can shoot the dead bodies and have blood come out. Or at least it used to work like that.

Or you can do like I did and animate the blood so when the body hit the ground the blood begins to flow.

Attach particles to the characters. I did it once, it looked hilarious seeing my characters literally 'lit' on fire

On-topic, I didn't know either that you could use that keepalive script! That's kinda cruel though, don't ya think?

Ya-Know, The only destroy scripts I used were fadecorpse.fpi and leavecorpse.fpi, I should try the others.



By the way, the keepalive.fpi might work
