How can I disable a trigger after its been used? for example, I have a trigger that plays a sort of battle music but if you backtrack and step in the trigger zone again the sound will go off once more.

How can I disable a trigger zone after it has been used once?

:state=0,plrwithinzone=1:sound=$0,state=1
:state=1:state=1

Set the battle music to the Sound0 box in the trigger zone.
