So you mean modeling a character? well I have seen people make them in a program called "milk shape 3d" or if you have money you cab buy a program called 3d studio. For beginners I would recommend milk shape though.

I appreciate the responses, however...

No, I don't want to model a new character.

I want to simply take an existing character from x10 and change it's uniform it's wearing (maybe it's textures?) and want it to wear a military beret.

I don't want to do my own character...not because I can't, but rather because I don't know how to animate it.

So I suppose I just want to know how to change and edit the characters in x10....and also maybe in some of the model packs.

Thanks

For a beret, you will need to open the existing file, create a beret, attach it to the character. For changing textures, I would recommend Paint.net.

@----> budokaiman,

You say I will need to open the existing file (Which file do I open)?

And which character do I use from x10 (if you have a suggestion)?

Where do I find the textures in x10 in order to edit in a paint program?

I guess what I'm asking is which files in x10 do I have to edit and where are they?

I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended for all my graphics/texture work.

And do you know how I go about "attaching the beret to the character"?

Thank you so much.

Quote: "existing file (Which file do I open)?"

Any .x character file.

My Documents >> FPSC X10 >> Files >> texture bank

Open the .x file in a modeling program, create a beret, put it on the character's head. *Note: You'll also need to change the UV Map to fit the character with the newly attached beret.
