Just bought a new laptop for the sole purpose of my big project. I have another (more powerful) Toshiba laptop that is generally used to messing about on, but because of the amount of work that's I've had lately, I've mainly been on this one.
I like my desktop clean, the only thing that's on my desktop is a direct shortcut to the compiled version of my UScript code, just so I can quickly jump into my test level and test out new code changes without opening the editor up. everything else is in the bottom bar, because nearly all of these programs don't add another icon to the taskbar, it's easier to have them all there. I have all my project folders for university and freelance all set up as libraries that I can access quickly with the icon. I also have a slide show background that shuffles between pictures that the Hubble has taken of deep space.
Unfortunately because i didn't want to get the internet set up at my current place because i knew i'd be leaving, i'm on 3g internet... Expensive or what.

I only installed it because - well, I don't know, but I haven't used it in about 3 years and I haven't touched this copy.

I tend have iTunes artwork display up so that'll explain why there's a giant girl smoking a magnum-shaped fag (it's actually the artwork for 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned by The Prodigy xD). And you can happily see my mix of the Overlord blended into an FPSC X10 environment .

Got a screenshot again of ObjectDock on my Desktop now with a few adjustment (and the artwork lol, Kosheen are awesome). I'm a CoD5 PC fanatic, so I tend to take screen dumps of 'Zombies!!!' and edit them .

I'm surprised more people haven't thinned and fixed the taskbar like I have. That was the first thing I looked to do when I got 7 - the fat taskbar with icons is stupid.

I prefer 7's default Start Menu since I never really liked the text on the menu (I'm more of a pictorial person xD).

Using small icons on the taskbar makes it look way too tiny. I love how it looks by default.

EDIT:

Oh, I see. You changed it back to the "XP taskbar-look", without any icons. I didn't like the new look at first, mainly because it functions differently. But then it grew on me. And now I love it.

Alright, taskbar then . I always call it the Start menu or bar. I can't use the small icons or text on the taskbar since I'm more pictorial as I said before and, strangely, words with images put me off of reading it :L. That's lucky for me since I do a few GCSE subjects with pictures and questions in one, I focus more on the image xD. << Oh...and that's what she said!!!

Been into Borderlands pretty deep, lately, and I gotta admit that I'm hooked. So, to suit my desire for more Borderlands, I changed my Windows 7 Theme to a custom Borderlands Theme. Even added in a few ripped sounds from the game to add more depth to the theme. It scrolls through about 6 Borderlands Backgrounds every 15 minutes. Just so happens that I keep my desktop all nice and tidy, as well.

Haha, good thing where I live far away from my town's football team, Swindon Town, and you don't get any traffic on matchdays anyways.lol

With me having to use an 8 year old PC again, I am back to using Windows XP and have a new desktop. The theme is basic because it's running 128mb ram...my old PC doesn't work either (which had 512mb ram), so I've got my sister's old one. It suffices for Uni work and web browsing.

No skins, SSH FTW!
The computer that's running it couldn't handle any skinning, it's middle-aged in computer years. It's just got plain Xubuntu--hopefully soon to be Lubuntu!
But I am tempted to put Mac4Lin on a different machine that's got a little bit more cajones for sharts and giggles.

Anybody use UbuntuStudio?
