i have been serching for the ansure to this can u modify a texture to put a personal touch on them. i dont want to pass them out but i do want to sell the game some day if any one can help that would be cool..

Yes, just download Panit.net, and you can open up .dds files in there, and change them how you like.

Works fine for me

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.

both have good qualities,
paint net is quicker and better organized but gimp has more to it

( if anyone needs the dds files or normal map files for gimp let me know as i spent hours on a wild goose chase to get them i nearly gave up!)

i do love the offset on gimp, that is basically your seamless texture maker. for free.

an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm saying that you have to download the Plugin, which isn't the easiest to find and install, so Paint.net is much easier, and what I feel, is the better choice.

Actually I just naturally knew where to put the plug-in files somehow

no i was wondering if i could change only part of a texture like the one in the download and if it is ok to like make a person with a bloody nose
from the stock media and be able to sell the game

ok i dont think i am wording this right i just wont to edit half of lets say a .dds file i have gimp and love it i was wondering if i could change part of the texuter only like change the way the face looks and still be able to sell the game some day.
